Scott Allan

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by Officer Doofy, May 28, 2015.

  1. I would certainly hope so. Also McGregor is a wee pet too. I forgot to mention him earlier. It's undeniable he favours these players and there has been numerous times where some or all of these players played ahead of or on a position that another player is more suited to. I am talking about Stokes's omission and Commons playing out of position and having to accommodate lesser players in the hole.

  2. Yes and no.

He can't start 3 youth players every game but even you have to agree that players like Nesbitt should have at least made a couple of appearances this season considering how he's performing?

  3. You really think he is going to start trusting youngsters when he is getting so much *?

Apart from a 4 month window he has been getting attacked for pretty much 18 months.

A lot of it justified but why the * would he start introducing Nesbitt etc when he is fighting for his job?

You and I know that he might actually get some leeway if he was to drop some underachievers and use more youth players but he doesn't know that.

I honestly knew that him using youth players was never going to happen, not in the first few years anyway.

  4. I said Allan was over-hyped by the media last season when I watched him with Hibs. Nothing has changed my mind since.

  5. I'm not even talking about starting these players.

How many times this season has GMS came on in the last 15 minutes and everyone in the match thread has said "why the * is he coming on"?

You can always afford one youth player on the bench.

  6. Only two of them are really you gsters as I'd count them anyway, Jozo and Christie.

  7. Ambrose over Fisher at right back when Fisher was far more suited to the way he was playing the game as well. Limited games for Henderson...

Don't think he's shown he trusts the youth so far.

  8. He was absolutely outstanding every time Hibs were on the tv, i watched them every time pretty much. He stood out like a sore thumb and dictated every match . Hence why i was constantly bringing him up in player suggestions all of last season . He will be a massive success here .

  9. Will surely start against Stranraer considering Deila will probably make a few changes to the squad.

Even though a game against a League One side isn't exactly the best way to judge a new signing, I'm excited to see what he can bring to the table for us. Think he has the potential to make it here - no doubt about it.

No chance is McGregor a 'pet' as you put it.

He was out the team for near enough a year and has only came back in due to injuries/players not performing.

  10. He was never going to do that.

I said it when he first arrived and everyone thought he was going to promote half the youth team.

They are either not good enough or it's too risky to try them when you need to win every match.

It was never going to happen.

  11. Hibs are * and so is the championship.

It's no barometer as to how good someone will be for us.

  12. I know but Ambrose was actually * up the team and Fisher was playing better anytime he came in, showed he was better for the team overall. Even this season he wanted Blackett over Tierney.

  13. Realise this is a Scott Allan thread so don't mean to further detail but...

Now was the ideal time to bleed youth, the leagues a doddle and playing youth might actually give him some breathing space from the majority of supporters. We would appear to be "building something" which would allow us to rationalise dropping some points. Instead he has a settled, fairly experienced team, so there's no excuse for dropping points in this league.

If you think he's bad for it now, wait till the Huns come up next season - you won't see another young player break through under his tenure for a long, long time.

Nesbit will sit in the Dev squad this season then out on loan next.

  14. Agreed, people would be more understanding of points dropped here and there and we actually want to see more if the best of our youth players. I certainly can't wait to see more of Nesbitt and also hope to see Miler, Hendry, et al. and that young RB, Wardrop.

  15. We scout players from inferior leagues and countries all the time , you need to stop looking at that and look at the attributes of the player himself . Scott Allan has everything needed to make it here.

  16. You can't walk into the Champions' League with a team of midgets and lightweights in this system. In the past three seasons, we've proved it just doesn't work.

We did well in the past because we had a big powerful side and that's what we need to add in January. If the kids are good enough, we've idiots enough to maybe give them their debut in the qualifiers.

Sorry for being cynical, but you can't cry demands for a Champions League team and then demand Ronny plays the bairns.

  17. Agreed. I think we would all like to see a team full of academy players but most dont have it in them to step up. There is kind of a hankering to shoe horn the youngsters into the first 11. This never works and never will. They have to go out and take it.

  18. Always looking for a killier pass..

So eager to impress he missed an easy pass for Griff to score..

Deserves a start in whatever formation, good players can adapt.

    There's a player there.

  19. Wee bit hit and miss when he came on but nice assist.

Should be getting more than 25 minutes against Stranraer.
