    It's all a bit sad mate.

    I know Daibhi thought I was joking this morning, but there was actually a group of lads outside in my street singing and dancing to Scott Allan chants last night.

    I wish the boy well and hope he rips it up here but the reaction to him signing is a * embarrassing joke.

    A team days away from trying to reach the promised land of the chamipons league and we are * ecstatic about signing a guy from the Scottish second division??

    I'm actually * stunned at it all if I'm honest.

    I will reiterate. If this was any other player from the second tier who the huns weren't in for, this place would be at defcon 1.

    Totally agree with you there mate. The amount of pages on the Scott Allen thread on here within the space of two days was a joke. The thing just dragged out, you'd think Messi was on the verge of signing ffs. Wish to * we'd sever all ties to that club and the fans who obsess about them would just concentrate on us because the longer we do that the longer we'll keep getting tarred with the same brush

    Shut that * sevco thread as well!

    I absolutely am. Probably because I can see the exact same problems and deficiencies with the team as there was this time last season and the season before. I think failing to reach the group stages this season would be an unmitigated disaster. And personally speaking, I think going into such important games with the likes of Griffiths and Ciftci as the main strikers is dicing with death. I hope I'm wrong.

    I'm with you Sean.

    Clearly I want Allan and Celtic to succeed, and I want to be choking on my words in a few months time, but I just can't see it. I want Celtic to progress and succeed in Europe, and I don't think signing players from the Scottish second tier, who have failed in the English Championship and League 1, are the answer. Particularly when I don't think they're anywhere near the level of the players we currently have at the club.

    Is it going to happen on Wednesday though? Probably not. For him anyway, which is my problem with this signing at this exact moment in time.

    Not what I was expecting is what I'm trying to say. If he had signed on deadline day with two others after we had reached the CL then I would probably be laughing my * * off with the rest of you.

    I just hope we have enough to see off Malmo, we are gambling again and my * is making buttons.

    I know what you are getting at but I don't think signing someone more proven (AKA a striker) for a decent amount of dough before the Malmo game was ever on the cards.

    It never will be either unfortunately. We will only ever spend money once we are assured of that CL qualification.

    That means plenty more years of our arses going like the clappers while we try and work our way through 3 rounds of qualifiers without properly strengthening.

    It is Celtic we are talking about after all, we wouldn't do it any other way. :56:

    Not if we signed them 10 days ago (for example).

    Our shortcomings are glaringly obvious, and Scott Allan isn't going to rectify any of them at this moment in time.

    I'm just worried sick mate, CL failure is not an option not two years in a row.

    We will never grow as a club without CL money. And with BT throwing obscene amounts of it at the competition this year it's more important than it's ever been.

    Scott allan wasn't who i had in mind to bolster our squad before this match.

    Because that's not how the club operates and never has done. You should know and expect it by now.

    It's not like we haven't signed a player this season. Plus players take time to settle half the time. So it's as big a risk signing a player as it is not.

    Edit: I'm speaking as if we never signed Allan. But he wasn't signed for this tie
