Right-back Robbie Neilson will join five other Hearts players in a 30-strong Scotland training squad to meet in St Andrews next month.
Manager Walter Smith has preferred the two-day gathering on 14 and 15 August to arranging a friendly.
Smith said: "I plan to go over our games so far and the games ahead."
Neilson and Motherwell goalkeeper Graeme Smith, who was on the bench for the Kirin Cup last season, are the only two uncapped players in the squad.
The 26-year-old Hearts defender is the only member of the 30 not to have previously been called up by Scotland.
"We have a reasonably settled group of players, but it is important for everyone to realise that there are still opportunities for other players to get into the squad," stressed Smith.
"This by no means closes the door to anyone else."
"I hope that all the players will be able to come to the gathering," said Smith.
"While there is a serious side to the gathering, I hope it will also be an enjoyable experience for the group.
"The team spirit is excellent and gatherings like this can only help to improve that."
Smith will travel to see the Faroe Islands take on Georgia in the Euro 2008 group's opening qualifying tie after the gathering.
Scotland begin their campaign at home to the Faroe Islands on 2 September.

Just yesterday my time I saw that Motherwell/Rangers game and was impressed by Graeme Smith the Motherwell goalie in fact I asked I think it was Murphy if he had played for Scotland? :86:
Of course what does Murphy know? :87: -
Cant understand why McManus and Marshall are not in that squad, especially when you look at some of the donkeys in that squad.

It is mate, Websters no played in the first team for about 6 month.
Also, Graeme Murty and Graham Alexander ahead of Mark Wilson! Reading and Preston they play for Walter get a grip! -
I just don't understand how you and other celtic fans can praise him and say hes worthy of being in the squad when it wasn't so long ago he couldn't of been chased out the Celtic starting 11 quick enough. -
Marshall is better than Graeme Smith so why is he in?
Also if you want to talk about over rated goalkeepers then Crain Gordon is highly over rated.

Canny mind reading your opinion on games in general, for you skipped those homework times, ie, watching games as often as possible, for you certainly know little about goalies! -
Marshall, Beattie, and Wilson are with the U-21's.
-
I thought Jackie Mac retired after the last campaign?
McManus and Wilson should be in the team, Wilson is the best defender Celtic has in my opinion, and Big Steph McManus a full year in the team of the scottish champions, i dont know how people like steven Caldwell are getting in the squad part of the worst defence in the premiership last year and Graham Alexander when at the Switzerland game at Hampden seemed to be the worst left back ive ever see play, period coming from someone who had watched Mo Camera play there all season that is saying sumthin. Barry Ferguson not played for 3 month and is still injured now but gets in the team ( i know that sounds one sided but even when he was getting a game for Rangers he was pish). -

Barry Ferguson isn't even healthy is he? Smells like politics to me. Plus I'd take McManus over Caldwell as a centre-half any day. The first goal against Switzerland was his mistake.
