Trust me History and references go hand in hand like rangers and anti-football.

Cheers for the response mate :50:

Only thing is though, I can see myself working in say America or Australia and I can't imagine them knowing where Strathclyde is and how good it is, whereas Uni of Manchester everyone would have heard of and will know that it is a good Uni.

    I can vouch for that

I'm doing social sciences and i'm doing history, sociology and economics this trimester

I really couldn't cope with 4 years of economics, 12 weeks is enough for me. I just don't get it at all :39:

Yep, been doing economics for 7 years now since 3rd year at school, its a subject that grows on you lets say the more you study it and the more knowledge you gain from it, had a few friends in first year doing economics for the first time and they hated it.

Managed to tutor my friend to get the much needed pass in first year, was so proud of myself for that. lol

Yeah I suppose Americans or Aussies probably wouldn't have heard of Strathclyde

It's a big decision so good to see you are thinking of all possibilities when considering your options

Good luck with whatever you choose :50:

That's what I'm doing mate :50: Dropped Economics this year and dropped sociology after 1st year though :56: Got surprisingly good marks for Economics tbh though that was luck imo cause I got exam/essay questions where I could talk about purely the social side of it but like you didn't get most of it in general and the one trimester a year was more than enough for me. :56:

    What uni you at?

I've got a trimester of politics, psychology and criminology starting in January so i'll see how that goes then decide what to drop but economics is looking the most likely right now

Just gonna bump this, got a question to ask anyone thats done a degree in economics.

Got a stats question im not sure about : What do you do if the t-statistic and the adjusted R^2 give you contradictory results? In other words, what does it mean if the t-statistics indicates the coefficient for an independent variable is statistically insignificant, but the adjusted R^2 says the goodness of fit is better with the variable?

Not entirely sure on the question so any help will be greatly appreciated, cheers.
