I've done an hour long one, no problem.

And I'm an idiot according to you, so you should have nothing to worry about doing a 2 minute one, mate.

Just make sure you talk clearly and not too fast. It can be easy when talking in front of a group to talk really quickly without even realising. Talk a second or two to think before the start of your next point.

Yeah 2 minutes really is nothing, it's not a bad way to ease into it, if I had to do 10 mins+ by myself for my first one I reckon I would be * it.

It's economic geography and the presentation is on the 'Edge City' concept and we had to research a local business campus in relation to the concept. Exciting stuff :smiley-laughing002:

I had never even heard of an 'Edge City' until we were assigned it two weeks ago.

    * me, that sounds *. :smiley-laughing002:

Similar actually to what I done mine on last week though. Module is Urban Studies so all about cities(Glasgow in particular) and the way they have developed over the years. Felt a bit of a loner though because every * in my class had done Higher Geography whereas I was a history man.

Anyway it will be sound. Presentations are a bit of a * at times but I'd rather do a 20 minute one in a group of 2 or 3 and get for example 25 percent of my total mark out the way than do class tests or exams. Most of my course is marked on coursework.

I'm * at presentations, spent ages preparing for my first group one and a guy In my group accidentally stole all my slides, he kept tapping the board to point to stuff but it was an interactive whiteboard and he was moving forward in the slideshow without knowing :56:

Presentation wasn't too bad. About halfway through I nearly * it though, was trying to follow notes I had written as well as the slides and lost track of where I was :smiley-laughing002: I ended up just reading the last two slides without any explanation as I was a bit flustered.

Feedback from lecturers was 'Very confident and clear, should make more eye contact.' and 'very impressive delivery at beginning, head dropped latterly' :56:

I usually just do bullet points to jog my memory and recite from there. Also I find the technique of saying what you're GOING to say, saying it and then basically listing out all the things you've said, is a really good technique for 1.) wasting time and 2.) get your point across well when it comes to presentations.

I hate group presentations though, actually group work.... full stop.

I've always feared speaking in front of people, * terrifying. Always speak too fast.

I'm going to be a freshman in about a year after I lose my job.

I'll be 32, going to school full time, as a freshman.

No doubt I will experience a bit of ageism.

I'm starting uni in September, though I haven't picked which course I'm going to do just yet. One of my conditionals for Glasgow is some summer school nonsense that you have to take and pass some classes. Don't know if I can be bothered with that. Anyone on here do any Business/Economics type degrees and/or go to Strathclyde?

I'm sure someone done Economics, can't remember who now.

I applied for Glasgow as well and they wanted me to go to summer school to get a Biology qualification. I kindly told them to ram it.

I'm doing Business at Strathclyde at the moment, in first year. Really impressed with the whole set up here and enjoying it. Lectures can get a bit repetitive but it's the same everywhere. :50:

I do Business at Glasgow and the Business set up is pretty decent to be fair. Its certainly more organized and better run than my other subjects. When I started Glasgow was like 5th in the UK for business as well, not sure about now though.

Also, I walk past Strathy every day and I'm sure they have a big * off display claiming to be the best entrepreneurial uni or something in the UK...so they can't be that bad.:56:
