You must have had a good experience then mate. Maybe I just had a bad one, however I my fellow weegie colleagues that worked up there mostly thought the same.

Do you live in a shed mate?! Or is it student halls? Nah maybe I should have looked for privately owned owners renting it out themselves. I looked long and hard and the best place I could find which wasn't a * hole was 650 a month. and it was tiny. I pay the same here and it is 3 times as big.

It's very literally the place to be in the coming years mate, very wise choice imo :50:

I always got high marks for Economics modules, but I'm no fool - I realise it was because I always chose the social side of Economics for modules/essay topics rather than the proper mathematical stuff. It's a useful subject though and I did enjoy what I done of it :50:

Right anyone done Experimental Economics before, university 4th year? Got a problem set i am having trouble with and the notes don't really help at all.

    2) An experiment on voluntary contributions to the provision of a public good involving six players proceeds as follows. In each of five periods, each participant gets 10 tokens to allocate between a private and a public good. The return from investing one token in the private good is £1, while the marginal per capita return of investing one token in the public good is 20 pence.
    a) In equilibrium how many tokens will each subject allocate to the private and public goods? In equilibrium, how much money does each subject earn per period?

So the margin per capita return i think is 0.2 or twenty pence, the equation to find the optimal combination is no. of tokens - no. invested + value of contributions made by the players.

So 10 tokens are provided per player so lets say (10-1) + (6*0.2) = 10.2

The problem i have is finding the equilibrium amount so that each individual no longer benefits from investing 1 more token in the public good, yet if the individual invests 10 tokens its better for them than keeping all 10 tokens since (10-0) + (6*0.0) = 10, (10-10) + (6*10*0.2) = 12

    Anyone help me with this?

Aye I'm the same mate. Been looking at teacher training and other stuff. My supervisor has mentioned about doing a Masters as well but unsure if there's a point unless I intend to stay right on through a PhD and that.

I think I'm the only History student ever not to look at going into teaching. All my mates have applied, I've never even considered it. :56:I'm the same about a Masters as well. Strathclyde has no history post grads that interest me, but if I was to do a post grad I'd love to stay at Strathy. So I don't really know what I want to do yet.

It's something I've always fancied tbh. Thing is with History/Politics it really doesn't come with automatic job prospects. Transferable skills and all that, aye. But not directly applicable jobs to what you've done at uni unless you go into teaching/academia or to a certain extent government work.

Considering doing a postgrad on something which does lead to an actual job though, unsure as to what :50:
