Talk about what they did to tackle the 5 giants.

Like the NHS, National Insurance Act etc

My girlfriend's at Stirling, campus is cracking, quite like going up to visit. Still easier to go to one in Glasgow though, I'd personally recommend Strathy. :icon_mrgreen: What is it you're going to do?

Basically what everyone else has said. Explain the 5 giants and talk about the report, what Labour done about them, and a bit about the actual election as well. :50:

What is it you're doing at Strathy?. I'm wanting to do history there, dont think I'll get in though. Only got 2 B's in Highers last year, and I'm sitting 3 this year. The 2 sitting entry requirements are AAABB. But even if I got 3 A's I doubt I'd get in.

History and Politics. In my 4th year now. The entry requirements were a lot lower than that when I applied, can't believe they've went up so much. Hope you get in mate. I love being at Strathy, I'm hating it just now, because I have piles of work to do, but I still love the place. I'd love to do 1st - 3rd year again. :icon_mrgreen:

Was a ballhair away from going to Stirling to do PE. Campus is indeed a belter mate, a "proper" Uni campus if you know what I mean :50:

    * that breaking your neck for a "better" uni, go to a lesser one like Moncur and I and be happy :icon_mrgreen:

Nah, in all seriousness though, I'd have liked to go to Strathclyde. But not Glasgow. The stereotypes about there, in my experience, are all annoyingly true. I'd have chucked it or been thrown out for assault had I applied there.:smiley-laughing002:

Yeah I get you, completely different from Strathy etc. Reminds me of a campsite abroad at times. :56:

It was the first open day I went to as well, the others just didn't live up to Stirling campus-wise. It was a stereotypical uni campus which I now realise you generally don't get over this neck of the woods.

Aberdeen is where its at, personally just as good as strath or glasgow but lower grade requirements, bit ridiculous asking for 3A's and 2 B's for history, Aberdeen when i got in asked for 4B's, granted im in 4th year now so its probably gone up but the only reason a lot of people from Glasgow don't go is simply the distance.

Very, very true. I'd possibly have been in your class of you're currently in honours year mate. Considered applying to Aberdeen as I could have easily lived with my dad (who lives over in Seaton, next to Pittodrie) but decided against it because I wanted to stay at home. Similar reasons I ultimately rejected the Stirling offer as well.

With Stirling I am certain I made the right choice, intellectually and for the fact I am positive I'd have dropped out by second year. With Aberdeen though, I'm not so sure. I think I'd have loved it. Partly why I'm considering applying to there for Postgrad stuff.

Aberdeen is a dark city . Horrible people, the the most expensive city in Scotland for accommodation and shopping, for a city it's very small with narrow minded people, many will instantly dislike you if they hear a glasweigan accent, man, the list goes on.

Worked there for 10 months too long!

Have had nothing but positive experiences of Aberdeen tbh. Been going up for around 6/7 years now. My dad has also lived up there permanently for that amount of time and he only ever gets stick for the accent as banter because he says "wan" instead of one and stuff like that.

    A

Well thats odd i have to say, i used to live in Glasgow before i lived in Aberdeen, been here coming on 4 years now, decent city, good people, never myself been harassed at all for wearing a celtic shirt unlike glasgow.

Accommodation is cheap if you go for places owned by ordinary people, i pay 230 quid a month rent. Never ever go for these privately owned companies who charge 400-500 a month for a box. At least im paying half that for my own box. :icon_mrgreen:

Also in response to Sean i am also applying for a post grad in Aberdeen, applying for either a masters in petroleum economics or accountancy, not yet decided.
