Im starting to think what happened to my dad in the OP may have been the cause of Sleep Paralysis ? Because he also told me he completely froze and couldnt say anything. Thinks it was shock but could have been Sleep Paralysis..
Some videos on Youtube about Sleep Paralysis make out that its actually a demon that does it, had me scared last night tbh..

what's the scariest situation you've ever been in?

Mine is a car crash, when i was 11, had broken my arm, me and my dad were actually quite lucky, as the car was in some state.

Driving to Newcastle for a work meeting a few years back, I was very very late driving down the notorious A69.

Tired and frustrated, I stupidly overtook a slow-moving lorry on the single carriageway stretch. When I pulled out, a BMW was coming straight at me head on, beeping his horn and flashing his lights.

I swerved on to the grass verge at the other side of the road, missing the BMW by inches. Had I hit it I wouldn't have stood a chance. It was almost an hour before I could start the car again I was shaking so badly, mostly annoyed with myself for being so * stupid.

    Just don't do it kids.

One of the scariest was on holiday this year in the Algarve....my man decided that instead of walking round the road or beach to the next time....we'd walk along the cliffs...we got to this really steep bit and he climbed down without too much bother......then he told me where I had to put my feet to get down.

Now here is me....perched on this about 85-90 degree ledge that had a 10ft drop...not much you say....but I was wearing flip flops and I'm scared of heights, I decided I wasn't going down backwards....I wanted to see where I was going ( idiot I know....should have been blonde) anyway...I moved one leg down and got it into position and then went to move the other.....my position slipped and I ended up with one leg trapped underneath me and leaning forward looking at this steep drop and all the other rocky things below....I swear to * I was petrified, thought I was either going to fall and do some serious damage to the rocks(I'm a big girl) :56: or myself....or even worse...be stuck there and have to get rescued by the coast guard

Luckily steve managed climb up calm me down and help me free my leg and climb down the rest of it.....never again will I climb over cliffs in Portugal or any other frigging place....I think he has his eye on the insurance money:56:

That was one of the scariest...the scariest one I don't care to share but paralyzed with fear and not being able to speak, shout, move is something I hope I never have to go through ever again....hope no-one ever has to endure that.

If I hadn't been such a fuckwitt in the 1st place I wouldn't have had to think, but yeah, I guess so.

It's amazing the things and people that you think of sitting alone in your car after nearly killing yourself.

I got robbed at knifepoint when i was trying to score weed in maryhill.
stupidly I asked a junkie where i could get a bit and he says, !give me the money and wait here".
I said no, I'll come with you, so we go to a close and he just whips out his lock back and says "dont make me rip yer jaw aff", "geez the * money"

I gave him the money and he let me be but i was really * myself.
    lesson learnt anyway

Snorkeling off the coast of Tenerife. Im not the strongest of open water swimmers but do enjoy floating along shallower waters.

Anyway my mask fills up with water, stupidly I tried to lean back to empty it at which point my snorkel fills up with water too. I tried to stand up but didnt notice I was about 9 feet up from the surface. In a panic I try to swim like * back to the shallows, but going against the current and with the adrenalin pumping I got knackered out in about 10 seconds.

Just as Im about to seriously start shouting for help I managed to get a foot onto big group of rocks and take a breather.

Lucky * I was, seconds away from drowning.

Being told my pregnant wife had cancer, and there was no way they could cure it,and had to decide between baby and treatment.

    Thank * for 2nd opinions.

    :50:

An actual physical situation that scared me was getting chased across a field by cows.
    Them * can fairly move.
