Well it was. It was like night and day when Dundee UNited went down to 10 men. They had to take off their best attacker and they completely withdrew into a hit on the break game and long balls. We got better as the game went on but the 10 men thing had a huge effect. My feeling before that was this is going to go to a replay.

you can't deny that the sending off was the turning point but I think the Bhoys would have come out all guns blazing second half whether it was 10 or 11 men we were against! and when we get going no one in the SPL can stop us

not so sure mate, had they had all there players, the lad they took of was well up for the game, we will never know, but we must not give any other team any slack from now on, we are playing on the high " wire " alone now, but I hope we have a safety net also.

And I feel we should put ourselves in a position to take whatever players they're willing to cash in on. As you say, they out-played us, and it's undeniable that there is real quality amongst their squad that we could use to bolster our team.

The likes of Johnny Russel and Mackail-Smith would be starters for us, no problem.

    That was good butch :icon_mrgreen:

I particularly liked 'bumptiousness', I'll have to remember that one.

Samaras would be the first person to lose his position. Then you could rotate in/out Forrest or Stokes for the other.

Front line of Russel, Hooper and Forrest would be class. With back-up of Smith, Stokes and Samaras. :35:

    Wow! Really?

You don't think much of our attacking options then?

Butch.. was only trying to help... impetus.. as in driving force, stimulus etc impudence is normally regarded as cheeky or carries a negative connotation ... it's your post and you can write them any way you see fit...:50:

no problems bro, .... was happy to see Paddy get on the park ,, the FF substitution was a little more surprising, anyone know why it happened (appearances in cup?).

We need to look to improve if we're going to hit Europe hard next season. Comfortably good enough for the SPL, but James is still a developing player, so he needs a back-up, and I don't take Samaras that seriously. Became a very good team player, though. Russel can switch from position to position better however, and is a better goal-scorer.

Plus, he's Scottish and it's always best to invest in home talent if there is ability available.

    I'm not picky.
I don't really agree with this mate. We were just a lot more clinical in that second half and took the chances that came our way. If we played like that in the first half it could have ended up being more.

Think it could be another great example on how Lenny can get the players fired up because the way they played in that first half compared to the second was totally different so he must have said something to get them going.

Whatever it was it worked :50:

    Neil himself said it.

Serious improvement required in the games to come. Fully expect NL to rally the troops.

In my opinion I think he's just giving United respect BECAUSE of the way they contained us in that first half. We we're too great either in all honesty. Also its not like Lenny's gonna come out and say we deserved to give them a doing purely because of the way we played in the second half :icon_mrgreen:

United did do well in the first half and I don't deny that but we came out after half time and took the game to them. Was nothing wrong with the way we played then and I think we deserved the goals we got.
