Cracking point :50: I just think that we've been landed with some shocking players at times (Virgo, Scheidt, Du Wei ect) that as a support, we can be quite impatient and very quick to jump on any poor perfomances with assumptions that "they don't give a *" or "they're not Celtic class"

aye right, you make out like you know just whats wrong with him when the fact is that alot of the time he is just pure lazy and is no where to be seen. i like samaras when he can string 2 games together but other than that is far too inconsistant and if he cant handle the pressure then get out IMO. celtic can no longer afford a striker that only plays well every now and again.

weve been fooled by samaras so many times its untrue.

last night he had a good game but maybe he was putting himself in the shop window? if not then lets hope he can keep it up for the bhoys, i hope he proves me wrong.

my problem with samaras is he tries to do to much at times, he was amazing last night. i mean he made fletcher look pish at one point. i was cheering him on, rare from me. im quick to jump down his throat.

i reckon if he can sort out his decision making and try be a team player 90% of the time, im happy to let him have his 10% of dizzy-dazzling.

if he can maintain last nights performance, i wouldnt sell him...

I've got a similar view, with regard to the fans - if they don't have it in them to cheer the players just because things are no' going their way, then they need to grow a set. How can they expect the players to show character in adversity, if they don't show any themselves?

I'm of a similar philosophy to yourself: I would never boo a Celtic player. And while I accept that other folk have the right to do so, I think the word "supporter" has a responsibility attached. To be called a Celtic Supporter is an honour that has to be earned. :50:

Its hard not to get frustrated with Sammy. The guy has ability no doubt about it. Last year against Aberdeen at home, or maybe it was Hearts, he was playing amazing, ripped the defence to pieces, flicking it over their heads and making dazzling runs. But like so many times before the next week he was back to playing *.

I see him all the time with his hands in the air asking for the ball when he's at the other side of the pitch. One time I specifically remember is standing in the middle of the park about 10 feet in front of the man on the ball with his hands pointing to his feet. He gets the pass he wants and then turns straight into 2 players and loses possesion.

Blowing hot and cold is something that will make the fans annoyed. If i failed all my exams should I expect a round of applause from my family? Sorry Sammy but if your playing pish, you will hear about it from the fans.

Thats the way it should be. We're not there to cheer on losers.

we go to support our team ! obviously you dont know the meaning of that??? whoever pulls on the celtic top should get our support. on his day samaras is as good as any player we have but once the fans get on his back he becomes hopeless. so he needs our support more than anybody. yes he is frustrating but get behind him and he is a good player.

What I dont understand is that some fans want rid of him, and are accepting Murphy as a replacment! Sammy is twice the player Murphy ever will be, Sammy has flashes of quality and will score important goals, look at the Moscow away leg last season, 1 nil down from home 1st leg, Skippy got the 1st one and Sammy for the 2nd one could have blasted it like most would do in that situation, he looked cool as ice took it round the attacker and slotted perfectly in corner, that goal was a quality goal, it took real ability to execute that. The ability is in Sammy, no question and some fans need to get off his back and realise that calling him '*' is very small minded, he has scored 25 times in 61 games for us, that is a VERY decent ratio for a '*' player. I promise he will get more goals than Murphy, even in the biggest games Samaras keeps asking for the ball, it would be very easy to go into a shell when things aren't going well but Sammy keeps trying to impact the game.

He's the only proven goal scorer for Celtic currently in the team, he's the striker i'd be keeping hold off just now!

really dont know what to think of him right now tbh, do you remember the season before last he got off to a flyer and scored about 12 in 11 games or something then he got injured and the rest of the season he was pish, if he was more consistant he would be terrific,i would like to give him 1 more season tho

We'll If Palermo are still interested in him then they may bid soon, seeing as Cavani has now been sold.

need to keep him. like someone said, he scored for fun at the start of year 2 seasons ago, and was genuinely looking like a top class player. he got injured and didn't quite manage to get it back but that was only cos we flopped when we lost him. he ran man utd ragged the other night and i think the only thing he needs is someone like lennon to continually remind him how good he CAN be.

Spaniards eye up move for Sami

Daily Record 19/07/10 Not on line yet this is the norm so they can sell their papers. I will add the link later

Celtic are ready to offload striker Georgios Samaras to Spanish side Hercules.
The La Liga new boys were impressed by the Greeks World Cup showing and see him as the ideal man to lead their survival bid next season.
Hercules have opened talks with Celtic over the deal and want to offer the 25 year old a three year contract.
Samaras is keen on a switch to Spain but will only move if he can match his £20,000 a week wage.
Hercules coach Esteben Vigo said: "Samaras could be a key piece of our project to stay in La Liga as he can solve our problems in attack. We expect an answer this week".

IMO. £20k a week your having a giraffe! Never worth anywhere near that! Never consistant enough for the hoops he would prob start on fire then fade away as per the past 2 seasons the guy is a joke and personally I cant wait to see the back of him:bbpd::bbpd::bbpd::bbpd::bbpd:
