really dont think lennon wants him....called him an 'enigma' and didnt confirm he wanted him to stay. probably better letting him go, definitely a confidence player but he has had 2.5 years and rasmussen and fortune are relatively new signings in relation to him. also, murphy plays on the left of a front three, this is where samaras has played in friendlies so it seems like time is up for him

 

He is the best striker in the club full stop , he is the best of a bad bunch , i say offer him a new deal as he has 12months on his contract , so even if he stays and does well he could still walk away for * all ,

coudnt agree more ! hes a complex character and infuriates the * out of us all but when hes confident and on his game hes a great player. if the fans laid of him a bit we would see the best of him.

As much as I DO like Sammy, I think he loves palying for us and is committed. But sometimes he be so bad its infuriating. But I have to say of all our strikers, he is the best ...

 

get off his back? hes the laziest big jessie of a player i've ever seen and he actually is a talented player but is so lazy he just won't use it so i think celtic fans are entitled to give him slack

 

I haighly rate the guy, which has been backed by pre season perfomances!! BUT thats why im * off with him, he plays when it suits him! he is a lazy git that way to inconsistent to be kept, sell him now and get someone who knows the meaning of FIGHTING for your place in the team and doing this week in week out not just when it suits them.

 

hes worth more then £1.5mil to us, he is someone who gives 100% every game and enjoys playing for us, if we have to sell any striker (which we shouldnt be) it should be fortune'e.

Please let us not be kidded by 3 penalty goals pre season. He has no heart, not what is needed week in week out.

 

It's not as if he swallied up and stole 3 penalties from other people.

He made two of them himself, in fact should've had a goal instead against Seattle, and generally has been probably our best player in pre-season.

OK so that doesn't necessarily mean he will be amazing when the season proper starts, but we and the coach can only take the evidence of practice matches, and the evidence on current form is Samaras is our most important player.

If people think he's a donkey what about the rest of the team? Shown up by a donkey?

 

Maybe thats why lennon is trying to get rid as many as possible out of the team, he wants to manage football club not an animal farm :icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen:

 

definetly keep sammy, it was pretty obvious with the continual squad rotation, lack of leadership qualities being shown by Mowbray that everyone was pretty disgruntalled by what he was doing and found it hard to build up any consistancy as it didn't matter if you played well the weeks before, i think mowbray put numbers in a hat and picked the team from that.
Sammy has been one of the star Greek Players every time i see him play for the National team, he's also very highly regarded in Greece by everyone i've spoken too (holiday there for last 6 years).he can be a bit of an enigma at times, but with regular football and a manager that shows a belief in him , i feel he will be a better player for us in future.
