Sammy's one of my favourite players already. Think he's a cracking striker and I'm sure he'll be one of the top scorers by the end of the season. His rich vein of form will hopefully continue.

Also, the fact that he was a proven striker in the Dutch league (which is arguably better than the SPL), while he was at Heerenveen says alot.

If his touch improves he will be a legend...end off.

aye his first touch can let him down and sometimes he is too casual but you cant argue with his scoring record

indeed, he also has a great attitude and enjoys pulling on the jersey, think we have ourselfs a right bargin and a hot prospect providing he learns and isn't ignorant of other talents around him that he can learn from.

aye his first touch isn't the best, his finishing is poor at times too, some of his goals i think the goalie will be disappointed with, the Hamilton one especially.

but who the * cares, the guy is turning into a legend for me, he has a lot of critics, but that's only the people that slagged him last year, and backed the fatman, but who's getting the goals this season ya *.

I'll reverse some of my original statement from this, he seems to be pro celtic, he came for lower pay, he swapped those * boots for green ones haha, and he seems passionate, so I'll cut him some slack but if we had the option to release one of our current front three for lets say an OWEN, SAMARAS would be out of the door if it were my call

Can't believe you said that to be honest. Owen is constantly injured, is on a pay rate we couldn't even begin to think of paying and is now too old!

If Owen were to go to Celtic he would be huge, he has injury problems yes, he needs a lot of money but soon he will have made his millions and maybe just maybe wil want to play for a team that will win a few.

He is the only player worth anything at newcastle right now

I'd have Shay Given every day of the week before Owen.

Owen spends more time filling out sick lines than he does leading the line!

Come on, are you saying that if OWEN can to celtic you would not be happy.

And yes I would take Given in a second. I was thinking about it reccently, we will need a new keeper soon enough, he was a Celtic bhoy, Newcastle are crap, do you think he would come back, or did we * him off, or is he too settled at Newcastle, anyone know how long he has left on his contract?

I wouldn't swap owen for big sammy! no fukn way if i really had to then it would be jvoh because he has the least goal threat out the 3, think about it he scores 20 goals per season on average weras sammy is half way there already.

I would have agreed in the past, but I do think big JVH offers a lot more than goals, he needs a skippy or a sammy to play off him.

Aye he has a presence for sure, i would hate to get rid of any of the 3 but he would be the one i sacrifice based on the fact he doesn't score as many, and skippy is my fav player so that rules him out lol and sammy can play off of maloney and skippy weras he doesnt play so well with jvoh...its just to tough to say though, in an ideal world we should have 4 top strikers who can compliment each other.

I dont think Owen is past it, not by a long shot, he'll leave newcastle soon if none of the big four take him he will look elsewhere and I think we could be the kind of club to offer him what he needs. And I think he would be great in the hoops, he was just an example though, the point in if we are offered a big playr in exchange for one of our front men, I would see sammy go, and assuming one of the three have to go, obviously Killen would be gone well before that.

maybe, but put it this way, Newscastle can nt keep him, he wont go to a Bolton, its big four, maybe Man C, because they will pay him big, he has been abroad, and that didnt work so well.

He wants back in the England set-up so needs to play regular football and be oin the Big stage, on top of tha I was told once his family is Celtic through and through, now I'm not saying he will but why not..... apart from the pay and lets be honest hes made his money
