    Fair enough, but I still believe loosing Samaras and Ledley whilst bringing in Griffiths and Johansen is not strengthening but more a Status Quo, I hope I am proven wrong.

    Of course thinking Samaras is a skillful player is my personal opinion and proven in European matches where others falter, but I believe he and Forrest are on par :)

    Most fans seem to overlook this, he has been pivotal in Celtic qualifying for the Champions league over the past few seasons and performed well in the Champions league.

    Gary Caldwell and Stephen McManus were crucial in getting us to the last 16 twice under Strachan. Should they have been kept also? You cannot judge a player based on what he has done 6 months, a year, 2 years ago etc. Football is here and now business. And the fact is, Samaras hasn't done anything of note for quite some time.

    To be honest I thought he was posted missing in the group stages this season. Alright, the whole squad didn't have the best time of it but for a player we need to step up when it matters, he didn't.

    Sammy has been vital to us in Europe, there's no denying that. I love the big man, even though he can be frustrating. I just think it's time he moved on. He's talented, he just doesn't show it often enough. Last season was amazing for him, how have the other seasons been? Maybe it's time to part ways.

    His form in the SPL has dropped recently there is no doubting this, it also amazes me when a footballer with as much natural talent as Samaras cannot perform more consistently.

    It's time for the big man to go. Did well for himself considering how much a large section of our support hated him for quite some time. Made himself a bit of a cult hero and had a great season last year, but the reality is that the rest of his time here has been incredibly inconsistent and to be truthful more often than not he has been a disappointment. Still, will have fond memories of him, especially Samaras Sunday!

    He was hardly alone when it comes to poor performances in the group stages we'd have been lucky to make it without him. He scored 3 and assisted once in the qualifiers and one of the goals and the assist came in the crucial home game against Karagandy.

    The year before that he scored 3 and assisted 3 in the 4 games against Helsinki and Helsingborgs. I dread going into next years qualifiers without him.

    I agree unfortunately. Our European campaign was ruined by Lennon ordering everyone to just get it to samaras this season. We need change.

    that being said, if there's no replacement for him I don't mind if he stays

    The attitude towards Samaras by some fans is a joke. He has been crucial in all our CL runs past few seasons and its a shame some seem to forget. Please stay Sammy! :)
