Considering that Samaras has been at Celtic for 2 and a half years and MAF has only had 1 year to settle in, added to the fact the team had a shocker last year, i choose MAF as he has the potential to be a really good player for us. Samaras, well can play well one moment and then be absolutely shocking the next, and i mean shocking added to the fact hes a big jessy who if theyrs a 50/50 in an old firm game pulls out!

Few MAF highlights in his first season, some important goals aswell in the games:
YouTube - St Johnstone 1-4 Celtic 24/01/10 Marc Antoine Fortune Goal 1-1

    YouTube - MAF v Motherwell

YouTube - Celtic 2-1 Rangers Marc Antoine Fortune goal

    YouTube - Fortune 2nd goal-Celtic V St.Johnstone

They are both pish, Samaras has one good game in 5 (if that) and MAF has 1 in 10! Any decent offer for either would and should be accepted, I couldn't care less what Samaras does elsewhere, what he's done for Celtic has not been good enough and a decent pre season does not change that!

^^ And how do you explain the swinging from Keane's nuts even though he missed a couple of good chances for us and left our club high and dry on top of it?

Does Keane play well on a "regular basis"? He was on a decline at Spurs and was shunted to Liverpool where he missed a handful of sitters in important games but he doesn't get criticised by the Liverpudlians 'cos he's the Golden Child and was always a "liverpool fan". Same story with us, not only did Keane miss a couple of sitters that Sammy would've been cricified for, but Keane could've stayed with us to repay the love and adoration we showed him but he wanted to return to Tottenham to warm the bench and chew on his megabuck wages.

Sammy's goal record is perfectly acceptable, he's scored many importaant goals in Europe too, he has shown loyalty and love for the club - WHAT HAS KEANE DONE for you to swing on his nuts?

Come on Barry, you're not really comparing the handful of goals Fortune has scored for us to the plentiful world class beauties Sammy has scored for club and country?

One thing.. We judge players on what they do for us.. Keane at Tottenham , Liverpool etc means nothing to Celtic fans... As someone else pointed out he was never at any point owned by Celtic and made it clear it was only ever going to be a loan deal.. He never left Celtic high and dry...

Im not swinging on Keanes nuts but I'll defend his right to use his head over his heart and stay in the EPL..

Sammy has done decent for Celtic and it's opinion that he's better than MAF but I've seen plenty from Sammy that suggests otherwise.. You'll get people who overlook either MAF's and Sammys deficiences to back their man ahead of the other.. I don't see that much between them to be honest..

I just posted some highlights from Fortunes first season at the club, thats all i was doing, wasnt comparing there 'goals'. Yes Sammy has scored some great goals for Celtic, but i dont really care what hes did elsewere or what he does for greece tbh its what he does at celtic and what he brings to the team and for me Fortune brings more than him on a regular basis!

Edit: Tbh am not a big fan of either of them, as they are pretty much both baws.

hes been spurs best player in pre season by a mile, and he won player of the tournament for them aswell, plus the goal a game ratio he had for us suggest his recent form has been very good hence why redknapp is thinking about keeping him and also why MON is interested in him, bit ungrateful m8.
    And i like sammy btw.

Sammy could be one of these players to leaves and becomes a goalscoring sensation.the problem being he doesn't take enough chances while in the hoops and I mean great chances

Rednapp loves Keane so much that he's farming him out on loan to any interested parties...

We might not have had the transfer fee to buy Keane from Tottenham but we could easily have extended his loan period with us IF ONLY he agreed to reduce his £68,000 a week wages. The truth is, Redknapp was happy to loan him but Keane didn't want to take a wage cut - he even preferred to go on loan to West Ham (Spurs' London rivals) for the same wages rather than extend his loan period with us for reduced wages. So much for being a Celtic fan. Look, i like Keane as a player and i can't help but warm to him owing to his roots but i cannot excuse his leaving our club in the lurch at a time when he wasn't exactly wanted by his club. We were the only ones who really welcomed him and showed our desire for him to stay for another year...but he turned his back on us and chased the Benjamins..

Even after all this, we still praise him, but we abuse a player who has consistently shown his loyalty and love for the club by showing other interested clubs the finger...how long will Sammy have to suffer all the abuse until he finally has had enough?

Careful what you wish for Sammy-bashers, 'cos Sammy will go to Serie A and THRIVE in an environment where he will be APPRECIATED and LOVED and CHEERED by his fans not jeered and abused on a regular basis by some of our neanderthals...

Sure, let's judge the relative merits of our players based on superstition and gazing into a crystal ball rather than looking at the skills and goal record of the two players.
You guys talk about MAF's potential but i think Sammy has more potential than MAF IF ONLY he'd get a bit of support rather than boos..... Sammy took on the whole of Argentina's defence ON HIS OWN in the World Cup prompting interest from many European clubs - do you think MAF could do this on the international level against powerhouses like Argentina? Let's not even consider Ras for this role. Sammy can play centre forward, left wing, midfield behind the strikers....Look at merits of each player and their history in actual games rather than pinning your hopes on crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.....

I remember Strachan saying Samaras has the potential to be scarily good.

That's why Strachan wants Sammy at Middlesbrough...Meanwhile, Keane wants a move to any club which can afford his wages:

Keane move looks imminent | Celtic - EatSleepSport

If he really loved us the way he says he does, he would take a * wage cut and sign for us! But it's ok 'cos he's Irish, let's bash the loyal Greek...disgraceful

I don't understand some of you guys...It's madness saying that Fortune is better than Samaras !
Samaras can be a beast on a good day !
Fortune can be a decent player on a best day !
Fortune scoring lot of goals for us next season ? Good one...
    Sammy all the way !

Fortune has more strength and composure on the ball and is better in the air, but sammy seems to score more often :S

I think they are both good players and dont deserve half the stick they get

Samaras if we're in a situation where we need a goal and time is running out. Fortune to start.

Lets just see how they do this season.

Samaras so far has been playing out of his skin. Yes he has only scored penalties but they don't matter its all about his all round performances in these matches. Sammy has been sensational. He obviously loves being at Celtic but no matter what this guy does he always seems to get boo'ed from the fans. Lets just recap on last season. Fortune scored 12 goals last season, Sammy scored 13 if you include the mid-season friendly. Fortune scored to make it 3-2 against Motherwell and also scored to make it 2-1 against Rangers to make us win. He also scored to make it 2-2 against Hibs which was VERY crucial to stop the title winning at Ibrox. Sammy however scored to make it 2-0 against Dynamo Moscow at stoppage time which was very vital. I think overall they have both been very poor last season but had their games. Some Celtic fans are willing to give Fortune another chance this season. Sammy I think will still get boo'ed if he had scored the most important goal of the season. Some fans just find reasons to slag him and criticise him for every simple thing he does.
My answer? Samaras, better controller of the ball, more skilful and also loves the club.
