Sami is not pish, he is just a different type of striker. Hes not a Stokes or Hooper who will score the 20 plus goals needed throughout the season but he can play a role that neither them can! He is one of the Best around at playing the single striking role in 4 5 1 formation away from home in a game where we wont have the majority of possesion and need to hit quick on the break eg. Ibrox or away in europe! The problem he has is we don't play many games like that throughout the season as generally home or away we dominate possession and his natural game requires space to stretch defences and run in to. He needs to just work on his game more and realise that say at home to Hamilton he needs to stay in the box more

    I totally agree.

The problem is, he's had 3 years now to work that out so he's either thick as mince or just unable to adapt. Either way we should empty him, he's far too inconsistent and does my * nut in.

He didn't do anything special tonight but he won most of his aerial battles, ran the channels well and got some very decent balls into the area and was unlucky to get an assist. He was close to scoring from a header and made some key defensive headers in our half.

He was a bit slow on the ball tonight, that would be my only critsicm.

Inverness done well in that regard though, you could see our midfielders needing too much time on the ball as well, it was very hard to find space at times.

He was certainly better than his strike partner tonight.

It always seems to be insults from people who have a gripe with Samaras, rather than a comment about what was so bad about his performance.

Thought Samaras did ok tonight. There was * all space to do much but he did try to create chances and he certainly had a better game than Hooper who looked off the pace.

Samaras played better than Hooper tonight, so if Sammy was as bad as some people are makeing out ( he was not ) then Hooper must have been even worse?

My problems with his performance are the same as they always are because tonight was a typically crap Samaras performance.

He missed a really good chance - no change there.
He was lazy and lackadaisical - like always. There was one time where Joe Ledley passed the ball to someone then burst a gut to get up the park and keep the move going - meanwhile Samaras is just sauntering along and taking in the scenery. Ledley ended up further up the park than Samaras was. If I was Ledley I'd have booted him up the *.

If Samaras thinks playing well in a couple of Old Firm games means he can not bother his * against the smaller teams then he's in for a rude awakening. The guy's a * imposter. I cannot suffer him.

To be fair Mark, Samaras is one of the least lazy players I've seen at Celtic in years. He's constantly making himself available for passes and trying to create space for teammates.

Sometimes that's true Minty but there are other times where he just swans around the joint not looking in the least bit interested. Maybe that's just the way his body language is but it really gets on my * nerves because it looks for all the world like he's not trying.

I just can no longer tolerate the level of inconsistency in his performances. I stuck by him for about 2 years because I thought his ability would shine through in the end but I've had enough now. If it was up to me the guy would never play for Celtic again. He can * off and frustrate the life out of some other poor team's fans.

If there's one thing I definitely wouldn't criticise Samaras for tonight and throughout his Celtic career, it would be his work-rate. You won't find many players who stand at 6 ft 4, that will do as much running as Samaras.

There is this myth about Samaras and his workrate which is just not true. He is * bone idle. A liability on the park and seems able to turn attack into defence in seconds. My biggest concern with Sammy (other than the fact we have given him another contract) is that there is no chemistry with him and Hooper. When Stokes and Hooper play, there is a clear partnership. They look for each other and link up. Sammy just doesnt look for anyone. Hie last option is a pass to a team mate.

What does Stokes have to do to get ahead of him?? Scores every other game and is a partner for Hooper.

I honestly dont see what Sammy is bringing to the team.He was rank tonight. He will probably play on sunday, it will be interesting to see his effort now that he has his contract signed.

So now we're back to Samaras is terrible. I'd say the fans are at least as inconsistent as his play.

Sammy was ok. I think both Ki and Sammy were made to look worse than they played tonight by other forwards standing and watching when they got the ball. It just wasn't a good game up front.

No, I think you'll find that most of the fans that dont feel he merits a new big wage 3 year contract and a starting place over our top scorer will still be consistent in their misgivings about this guy.

A couple of goals against the Huns and fans think he is the next Larsson and is undroppable. Please dont put Hooper in with Sammy, that guy worked his socks off. Dropped deep, held the ball up and did all the stuff you expect from our front men.

Now, I aint gonna get all doom and gloom coz Neil got the result, however, we have not played well now in the last couple of games against Hamilton and now tonight and that is a real concern.

And to have him as stand in captain, when there are leaders already on the park in the form of Kayal and Ledley is astounding.
