A very good question!! Anybody that knows me on here knows I'm a big fan of Hoops & Stokes but I am not against Sammy. I really think the guy does do his best for Celtic every game he plays. This in not always the view of many supporters but I think it is just his game play style. I think in truth he would be better to move on, he needs to play in a league that suits his skill set and it's not Scotland. I'm pleased he signed a deal so we can command a fee for him and I think he will be gone soon. I wish his the very best as he is a great big lad that has done the best he can for Celtic.

He can be a fantastic player who is one of the best in the SPL as displayed in the 2-0 win at mordor, however he is a complete disaster and waste of space most of the time so giving him a contract was a massive mistake, personally after the 2-0 game i thought if he could keep that up he would be good to have in the squad but the recent games he's played in, especially the 2-0 hamilton game showed how lazy and useless he is, hopefully he can provide a few vital goals in the run in but still ship him out in the summer

I think he would be really suited to the Spanish league and can see a team like Athletico Madrid coming in for him n we maybe could make a nice few bob on him. Could be a stroke of genius signing him up on a long term contract, if that happens. Great player on his day but would rather sell him, far too inconsistant.

He'd do well in another system, but his style of play just doesn't lend itself to Celtic football, sadly. I really love the big man. I think he has all the heart you could ask for in a forward, and does what he does really well. If we ran a 4-3-3 or something, I'd see him doing well, like if McGeady were still here, but Celtic is and will continue to be a 4-4-2 kind of team.

If he's happy as a squad player, I'd love for him to play, but I assume that sooner or later he'll want more playing time. How can anyone in their right mind sit down two explosive scorers in Stokesy and Hooper to let Sammy get a game. It just doesn't make sense at this point. If he goes in the Summer, I'd be sad, but I'd like to see him get more opportunity to play and right now that would mean a move. I think he'd do well in Italy somewhere. Maybe a mid-table Italian club will give us a decent fee for him.

Hes a talented yet inconsistent player, we all knew this when lenny extended his contract so calling for his head so soon afterwards is ridiculous.
I agree with paddy hes a good option to have in our arsenal, gives us more variety in our style of play, cant fault his effort either.

hes definately a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma , but everytime i give up on him he shuts my mouth! .....and hes got great * hair. but seriously i think hes still got a huge part to play in us winning the league imo . bags of potential and hes still young.

Everyone says "In Lenny we trust" so why cant we trust him on this one? Samaras wasnt even playing in the hibs game and once again he is being questioned, yes he is frustrating, yes he isnt always on form but at the end of the day, love him or hate him, he loves the club, and when hes good hes * good. Sammy is a controversial player, but I cant stand the "oh he run rings round the huns we love him" then as soon as he plays a bad game (or in this case wasnt even playing) and he gets slated.

I honestly have no idea how that bhoy comes on the pitch week after week and plays given the * he takes from fans.

So in short...no it wasnt a mistake, in Lenny we trust.

I agree. What surprises me more, is that he's still got a huge amount of love for the club and the supporters, despite taking a lot of personal abuse and all the rest of it.

Lennon should have chased him down london rd, the guy is a phud and will never be a player , a couple of decent games against the huns is no basis on which to renew his contract. 2 or 3 goals this season says it all.

If they buy another striker who is more reliable than Samaras, then sure - sell him. I'd rather he was there incase Stokes or Hooper gets injured.

Nope, on the contrary, a very wise move by Lenny. He knows what he's doing.

Remember, we will be playing in Europe next season.

Sammy is one of the few players we have who could cause genuine problems for Champions League quality opposition. A big guy with pace and good feet is a rare commodity.

If we build our squad solely on who can doggedly plug away with consistent efficiency against the likes of St Mirren and Hamilton, we are preparing ourselves for utter mediocrity, and for humiliation in the serious competitions. Samaras is a cut above, and we need him for the European games - the real games.

The contract wasnt a mistake in my opinion it means we can sell him and make money im sure there are teams who would take him but he will have a huge role to play for us in future games and in europe:50:

He's scored goals though that have helped us, a lot against Rangers over the season

I don't think that offering a contract was a mistake, just the length. I don't feel that Sammy has merited a 2-3 year contract. I think he should have been told here's a years extension, prove until the end of the season your worth more.
Lenny seems like he can be the man to get somthing from Samaras, and at times it has shown. Still only 26 and can improve greatly. But the length of cotract is the only thing I'm unsure on. Plus side on that is if anyone does indeed want to buy Sammy then we could maybe get a bit of cash for him.

    How many?
If we had a goalkeeper who didn't save any shots, but apparently loved the club and put in a good performance once in a blue moon, would people still be saying it's a wise move to keep him?Samaras is incapable of doing his job.I can't understand what the * he's still doing here.If he can't score in the SPL against diddy teams I don't think he's got much hope against some of the best teams in Europe..

Sammy is the one striker we have that CAN play as a lone striker and he rarely gives the ball away and is a decent out ball but not a target man which is a shame but has good feet and as i said holds onto the ball. I agree sometimes he holds onto it too long or makes a wrong pass but lets be fair here he cost us relative buttons and does contribute and if he wasnt hit and a miss he woulda cost us much more or wouldnt have been here. basic points for the money we did ok and is now on a contract which means if anyone comes in for him and the club wanna sell they get a fee remember jarisik so please have a heart with the guy
