Last I heard of this * he was a left wing grifter.

Now I find out he’s switched to being a right wing grifter.

Just shows how easily led so much of the population is.

Anyone who didn’t see all this coming out about him is laughable

 

I think the key word here is grifter. I never liked the guy but he seemed to have turned a corner and was dealing with his issues and seemingly became a better person or was just working to cover himself before this all came out

 

Trial by TV seems to be the norm ahead of the judicial processes.

The show gave us no new information that we didn't already know apart from the two rape allegations, which could've been a 15-30mins episode.

If they are found to be true, which the first allegation suggests it could well be with texts between her and him and her visiting a rape clinic, then he's in deep trouble.

The questions I have is why didn't these women go to the police at any point instead of messaging the agent and the TV production companies?

The whole show felt like channel 4 trying to disassociate themselves from any of Brand's potential crimes.

I hate people at both ends of the scale of believing everything the show gave us and those blindly defending Brand.

Was there anything illegal? Unsure but believable. Is he immoral? We already knew that.

 

Look at all the cases of historical sexual abuse that has come to light years later. Do you ask the same questions why they didn't speak out at the time?

It is very normal that people don't report sexual assaults and rapes. It's a humiliating and difficult process that very often doesn't end with any action against the offender. The majority of rapes go unreported.

People are scared to speak out against people with power. As we've learned from the most prolific of sexual offenders a lot of people were fully aware of what was going on and they say nothing either. As we see with this case when the victims do speak out we end up with people trying to victim blame.

 

I think he's a dirty guilty *. However I have never liked the thing where thats it reported all over the news before a verdict. So even if proven complete fabrication in the future, that won't matter. The guy would forever be known as a rapist. So we don't really get the innocent until proven guilty in this country. Personally no names should be released into the public until a court case has been heard and the results known.

Hope they hang him when found guilty.

 

Yeah this is kinda how I feel. I didn’t watch the programme but I’ve heard some of the details.

I’ll concede I’m a hypocrite because while I strongly feel we should reject trial by TV, clearly it’s difficult to ignore the accusations that are coming out.

At what * point does anything i said in that thread have anything to do with a known * convicted * paedophile?

I stated that if this * Brand is convicted by a Jury and evidence is given then i have no * problem with the scumbag going to * jail.

And if you read the * post also you would have seen that i also stated that an individual was placed in jail for near 20 years and just was released due to lies......So my post was saying that dont believe anthing that just the news portays on someone until the evidence is there to be put away.

 

Then * explain how you came to the conclusion about brand and a serial convicted paedophile in that * post i wrote.

Jimmy Saville didn't get put away. Mason Greenwood hasn't been convicted of anything. Do they need to be found guilty for you to believe the allegations?

What has the guy jailed for 20 years got to do with this? It really is desperate victim blaming.

Women have made serious allegations of sexual assault and rape and the first thing that enters your head is to defend Brand and talk about a completely irrelevant and extremely rare court case to undermine.

Called out for your horrible post and your first response is to get aggressive and abusive.

I've never been a fan of the guy as a performer but I'll hold fire before joining the lynch party.

If he's found guilty from evidence showing that then I'll be happy if he gets put away.

I'd also keep in mind that if certain people want someone demonised and tarnished, it's fairly easily done.
