First with Rob Henshaw going down injured in the Italy game but then Chris Farrell who has done well for Munster this season comes in for him and has a monster game against Wales only himself now to get hurt in training and likely he is not just out of the final 2 6 nations games but likely is done for the season. So unfortunate for him. I would imagine Farrell's injury means that Gary Ringrose who has just returned from injury will take his place against Scotland.

 

Nowhere near as physical. Just as well Scotland are missing Dunbar.

 

Agreed. Ringrose is a really good player but he is better as the complement alongside someone like Henshaw or Farrell in the center rather then as their replacement.

 

I’ve just looked at the Scotland squad and they have Dunbar back in. Now I’m not sure he’ll be fit to start but that’s a big boost for them.

Richie Gray and John Hardie are also back, along with a few in the front row.

We should have Furlong and Henderson back which will be a boost for us and while losing Farrell is a real blow especially having already lost Henshaw at least we do have a good player to come into the side in Ringrose. Will be interesting to see if O'Brien plays for Leinster this week or will he be on the bench for Ireland on Saturday. I suspect he will line out for Leinster on Friday night myself with a view to him playing in the final round of the 6 nations.

 

Ireland massive favourites here.. every player 9/10 with Sexton 10/10..

From our stand point I think the key is in the center. Jones and Horne are a powerful pairing for you and with us now having to bring in Ringrose that is an area that really worries me. As things stand right now you flat out look a lot stronger then us and if we are not able to at least significantly limit the damage there we could be in real trouble.

 

Are you saying that Scotland look stronger in the middle? Irish pack looks formidable.

 

No I just meant in the center with their 12 and 13 over ours. Jones especially looks very strong and I think overall they can hurt us there. Pack wise I agree with you I think we have an advantage there. Which could be crucial as I see the Scots being very aggressive about contesting rucks and trying to get turnovers and that is where I think their centers can hurt us.

 

We will need Russell to have an error free game and a big game from our pack.. should be a cracker...

Agreed. From your standpoint he will need to be on top of his game. While for us our wide defense is going to need to be much better and more cohesive then it has been so far this year.
