Which "cause" are you talking about here ? The cause of Celtic FC ? The cause of free speech ? The cause of Irish Republicanism ?

I think you are been a little parochial. Alot of people do still think along Catholic/Protestant or British/Irish lines but alot of young people don't. With the internet their horizons are far less proscribed than ever before. I am not saying that this song is going to get a lot more young people becoming Irish Republicans but maybe some will actually spend a couple of minutes googling and perhaps realise that the issues were not as black and white as their parents would have believed.

People have different ways of posting, some easier on the eyes than others, but it doesn't open doors for people to Troll anyone with an opposing view to them, no matter how they word their post.

    Something annoys you, Report it.

We are a wee bit tired of the amount of times we have to repeat this.

I have downloaded the song and being honest i never really knew much about the song or the words other than remember hearing it being sung at some matches and maybe in the pub the odd time.

The reason i downloaded it was to help highlight the stupidity of a law that can criminalise someone for the rest of their days for singing at the football yet you can download this song legitimately and have it in the charts, play it in your home, pub, car...whatever.

I can see where you are coming from with some of your points but flip that and you need to understand we are not all supporting this just because it is supposedly linked to the IRA and republicanism and its just sticking a finger up to the man. Releasing the song has certainly raised the awareness of some people and is supplying funds for those fighting it then that makes it worth it for me. If it riles a few hun's then all the better, its their own fault if it offends them :50:

The cause of defeating the bill..

We should be teaching young people not to be singing songs that cause offence to other people (like it or not they do) and go the Celtic Park and support Celtic and leave the politics at the door..Not everyone who supports Celtic is a Republican or needs to be.

    Fair enough.

Or should we be teaching people not to be offended by things that aren't offensive?

I don't think you can go to the football and leave Politics behind as everything is politics. You can go to the football and leave Irish Republican Politics behind but to do so is making a political decision.

We should be teaching young people who these heroes were and what they stood for.

It is not just a few huns mate, it is most of Scottish society from what I gather.. I think people are tired of hearing about what happened in Ireland 100 years ago at football stadiums.

Good man Ricky. In all honesty I think this is the best reason of all to download the song.

It only seems to be difficult for us Celtic fans and Huns to leave politics at the door..You don't hear dons or motherwell fans singing political songs really, well bar goading us.. As I said to Rickythescot people are sick of hearing about Irish politics at football stadiums. Teach folks about what happened in Ireland I have no problem with that but I don't think Celtic park for 90 minutes is the place..

I take nothing to do with what happened/is happening in Ireland, i dont support or condemn any of it, and like i said i never knew what RoH was about until supporters started being arrested/charged for singing it. If it offends people then maybe they dont fully understand what its all about and you have to admit alot of people speaking out against it are offended because of their bigoted views and ways. For me it is sad that our society is finding a song like this offensive in the first place.
For supporters of any team regardless of beliefs to be arrested/charged for singing a song like RoH or similar is wrong and this is being highlighted now, if people see it another way then thats up to them, i know my reason to support :50:

No. I don't care what other teams fans who already hate us think. I think most football fans in the UK are like that.

It would be nice if people went to the football to watch football sing about football and talk about football. If people want to teach their kids about Irish Republicanism for the correct reasons that is great, but singing songs at the football is going to educate no one and only seems to cause resentment towards Celtic and our support.

As I said before I was educated in Ireland and lived both sides of the boarder that is how I know about Irish Politics not because the GB were singing ROH..
