I'm not sure either lad, thats why i said at this stage on parenthesis...

but it's a fact that keane has had a successful career in the premier league...

i believe that of our current strikers only hooper has the potential to play at the highest level...don't get me wrong i like stokes but i don't see him playing for liverpool or man utd in the future...

hooper however i think he can be a quality striker...

but keane,as much as we like him or not, already is an established quality striker...

Keanes link play is first class and his footballing brain European class. One of the best finishers to play at this club and has bags of experience. I would take him defo.

Keane is a great striker, anybody saying otherwise is having a laugh!! However I do think he has his weakness' where good defences can figure out how to stop him e.g he was never really a threat against rangers - but I would never say no to a player of his quality and experience.

I honestly can't believe, we have punters on here saying Keane was crap, when he was with us on loan. I bet if the Board had paid his £6m transfer fee, the majority of fans would have loved it, I think keane, was excellent when he was up here, and his pace was frightening, great header of the ball, great opportunity taker, and very intent on scoring goals for us. Have we, ever thought, that maybe his wife/family, wanted out of Glasgow, and back to London, have we ever thought Dermot Desmond, wouldn't sanction the £6m ? Would Spurs have agreed to sell him to us ? Would he have taken a paycut to sign for us ? All questions we cannae answer. But if I was Lenny, I would be chappin Keano's door to see what the score was with him ? Would we be able to bring him to Celtic ? I really don't care what West Ham's fans, say about him, I would openly welcome him back to Parkhead anytime, but not on the loopy wages they are paying down there. Mark my words, Keano is still a fantastic player, certainly a wee bit rustier, but also certainly gonnae bang us up to 30 goals a season. Keano, needs the change now to save his career, he needs to be liked by the manager and the fans. If West Ham, are saying he was that bad, then how could Spurs demand a mega high fee for him, sell him to us for £2m, lets pay him as much as we could afford, then let the new Robbie Keane emerge at Celtic Park. I know there's a lot of wishfull thinking in my post, but genuinely, I would love see Keano in our Hoops again :celt_2:

The lad will always score, would be excellent in Europe I think. Long as its not massive wages and all that.

Some people have short memories. Calling Keano * well they must not have watched him play last season for Celtic.

Keane is a top striker, anyone who thinks otherwise needs their head looked at. Irish national captain, 30 year old and a great scoring record? He would be sensational for us. Him and Hooper would be an incredible pair up top.

Dont get hung up on the "oh, he's no a real Celtic fan", coz if thats the criteria for signing a player we are gonna have problems.

And if Craig Bellamy wanted to come, I Would have him as well.

Only stumbling block would be the fee and the wages. But anything £3m and under would be in our field.

if we could nail keane down for 2-2.5million and 30Gs a week given a run in the team he would be fantastic what a foil he would be for hoops and a real mentor as well never mind all the BS about his childhood allegiance to LiverpoolUtdCityCastleTic hes a * good player and i for one would welcome the number 7 back!!

bring him back at the right price...much much needed quality, leadership, experience and as redknapp says he's a great professional to have him in training and at the club...

imagine if he's first name in the teamsheet every week...

it will make wonders for his confidence...

We also desperately need experience in our squad. Put it this way a league deciding penalty at Ibrox who would you rather step up to the mark, a Robbie Keane or a Samaras?

Anything around 3m and I'd take him. He would link up very very well with Hooper. He is a more experienced, consistent, and intelligent version of Stokes.

Not to mention the fact that he would bring much needed experience, leadership and goals to our side. (But I'd still prefer Long.)

would rather us use the money on a really good CB than robbie cause he is 31 i a few weeks and he will have no re-sale value, also he will want a big wage

he had his wee 5 months at celtic, again money could be spent better

If Keane were to come back here he'd need to find his form again because it's not there just now. He wasn't even getting his game at Spurs and didn't do much at West Ham although he was injured for a bit. Also, his wages would not be 65K A WEEK either like he was getting.

So if he finds his form and accepts a much much lower wage then aye why not.
