i agree, though am no sure we should be spending 5 million + on 30yr old stiker. would much rather spend it on a younger striker who will have resale.

Would still take him. However would be no where near as excited as I would have in previous years.

hooper would get just as many goals as keane and hooper is on alot less of a wage than keane would want

A lot of people hate him for not coming back here, say he snubbed us for more cash. I'm not so sure that's really the case though. I think he just wanted to keep playing top tier football but as he is aging he's just seeing more and more of the bench. As a senior international for Ireland I mean you can't blame him for wanting to stay in the EPL etc. The SPL can't really compare.

Robbie Keane was past his best when he came to Celtic last season, aye he got 16 goals in 19 games but how many of them were from open play. Fair enough every goal counts but he scored alot of his goals from the spot.

He'll have at least a 5 mill fee on his head, and at very least will want 50k a week

Compare that with Commons, whos not even a striker, cost less than half a mill and is on at most half the wages Keane is on, whos only scored 2 goals less in 2 more apperances.

I'd be happier with Hooper or Stokes than Keane. He's past it and has been for about 4 years now if you ask me.

I think the only way we should sign Robbie is on a cheap fee, with a huge wage cut. You know what ruined Robbie was getting so much money so early on. Ruined him as a footballer. Never developed to his potential.

Saying that, If I was a footballer, I'd do a Bellamy and sign for Celtic for whatever they'd pay me, like he has at Cardiff.

Yeah, bemuses me how Stokes can't get a game before that goat Samaras at times.

To put my opinion on this quite simple, I'd rather the money we are using to pay Ljungberg be used on Robbie Keane.

If I remember correctly, only two epl sides made a move for keane in january. One was birmingham tie other was west ham.both now championship sides. I think its fair to say both robbie and west ham will be looking to part company. Now its the options. Other than the promoted sides going into the epl,I really don't see any making a move for keane. Now if he was prepared to fit into our wage structure. Say 30k a week, and we offer west ham murphy and 3 million, would it now be good business?

You know what Keane is way too injury prone and giving the state of the pitches in Scotland I just wonder how long those ankles would last in a full season....?

Though what you say makes business sense to me however I think he is a high risk especially how Shane Long is in the picture.

Ljungberg's probably on about £15-20,000 a week. Keano is on £60,000 a week.

Keane brings alot of hype. Too much money though.

If i had the choice of playing Hooper or Stokes up top, over Keane, i would!

The guys a step backwards i feel, we need someone who is a goal threat like he is, but with a bit more ability, hes getting on a bit now.

but he is still a spurs player he would have moved to west ham if they stayed up so he is on his way back to spurs yet again

also spurs would want alot more than 3m for him aswell, don;t think that 3m or more is worth it for him he is 31

    This.

And would be of immense help in Europe. That's all that matters, even if there is a slight oppurtunity I would snap it up.
