We could've bought him from Hearts. Did we even have a bid accepted?

I'd like to see us in for Jason knight. Exactly Ange type of player, an 8 more than a 10 and he's going down with derby so they may well let him go now

Middlesbrough is a totally soulless city. Their team plays in front of a half empty stadium and is destined for long term mediocrity. So, if he's happy with that, then * him.

Not sure how far the club was regarding negotiations. But if the fee was the same and he has agreed to sign for Boro instead then that clearly shows lack of ambition.

Move onto the next target now.

    Silver lining folks...

We know what type of player he is now.

If he can swap a bigger wage at midden club over his own professional development at a world renown footballing institution, it speaks volumes about his character as an individual.

It wouldnt have been long after a few european performances he would've been instructing his agent to shop him down to the epl in search of that big ticket payday... At our expense.

I highly suspect that any deal he strikes with Middenborough will have a huge pay rise should they make the epl in two/ three years time, as theyre already ten points off the pace after 25 games and theres zero chance of it this season.

Birmingham fans, are justifiably, well miffed. Especially given all his "im in love with Birmingham" patter.

    Bullet dodged.

    Next please.

Someone mentioned it earlier in the thread, but apparently when he first joined he gave an interview where he saw the club as a stepping stone :giggle1: Seemed to win the fans back after that but I'd imagine the fans are fuming now.

+1 for Knight. I do think that Derby have a tiny chance of staying up so they're not going to sell anyone this window but if/when they go down he's definitely someone we should be in for. Easily one of the best Irish prospects right now.

Can't say I'm going to get too worked up about missing out on a guy I'd never heard of before this week and haven't ever seen play.

He’s had a mare. I’m not actually that arsed. It’s not a priority right now and Wolf is the better option, possibly just harder to sign.

Look at it this way Birmingham bottom half of table he’s only just got into their squad … now I know they are two different types of player but look at shaw same predicament but more of a Main stay who we were able to get for nothing was he able to get in our first team no he needs more experience and is out on loan and I think he will come good in end … what trying to say is won’t lose sleep over this and at 5 million fee is inflated

There you go Cleansheets, someone else that doesn't think he's technically brilliant.

The scorpion is a one-off; you can see a screamer anywhere, anytime. If he was pulling them off consistently, that would be something of note.

I won't argue he has an engine, pace and some bite defensively. He will fit the style of play well (which is a dumb thing to say, given Ange wants him, and who am I to disagree).

I've watched him in the A-league as a youngster and a lot of the extended Birmingham highlights packages when he was getting a run (buggered if I was getting up to watch live games - I only used to do that for Rogic). I just hope he is, or can improve to a level where he can mix it/get a run/contribute; this is why I see him as a squad player.

I see him as an 8, or coming on for the 10 when we protect a lead.

I hope he does brilliantly for Celtic!
