If we signed these 2 we'd win the league no doubt.

Wouldnt mind if the 2 ( Dunne&Ireland ) end up here.

They are both on around 60K though so financially am not sure its viable - that being said -- Desmond is a billionaire and if he wants to sanction or pay for it then why not? They're both irish so he could very well give it the green light.

Ireland is in-consistent but if he plays like he did in the 2008/09 season then he will rip the * right out of the SPL - and more.

Dunne is solid as a rock and would shore up our defense no end.

If Dunne & Ireland are brought in on top of Ljungberg showing he still has it then i'd be happy with that business in January.

Great player would love him here.

Thing is though. We need a consistant core for our team. All these loan signings are just papering over the cracks.

I know it is hard to get these calibre of players to come here these days on full time deals. And to be fair we need to win the league this year, so go get himw Lenny.

Sign them both on loan, they help us win the league, become idolised like never before and don't want to leave, resulting in 2 quality signings.
Combine this with Freddie, add a prolific striker - why not Keane - and a keeper, namely Given and not only would it make us resemble an Irish select but it would make us winners!!!
(Given deal would also be loan with option to buy)
Also by bringing in these particular group of players, we would have players who are already aware of each other, from international duty, and would take less time to settle in!!!
If it works for Barca... :icon_mrgreen:

    No, just no:54:

Absolute donkey of a defender. Slow as *.

I really wish we'd stop looking at Irish players unless they're good. Keane, Doyle or Duff. Nobody else.

As stated in post (and source) the initial deals would be loans.
Given loan would be pennies, as the Sheikh would cover most of that.
Keane would cost us £5m + wages and possibly willing to take a drop in wages after saying he got his appetite back again after playing for us last season.
As noted, the others would hopefully fall in love with CFC, fans, etc, etc and realise that money isn't everything and that success is.
Also, this is where the possibility lies - offer decent wages and huge bonuses based upon League titles, CL qualification, etc, etc.
And yes, it's been a while since we spent that sort of money but spend it now and get it back next season in the CL!!!
Our board has already shown good business sense, now is time to show that in a different sense and speculate to accumulate!!!

More referring to the fact that they have a high percentage of their 1st team in the same national side...
