You have no idea if that's true and even if it is, it doesn't prove your point.

There is no way Dunne is faster than Kelvin Wilson, I would bet my bottom dollar on that :icon_mrgreen:

And Richard Dunne is the own goal king of EPL, yeah even worse than Titus Bramble, so * that for a game of soldiers.

Dunne is being put up for sale at Villa. He has injury problems, but if he was to regain full fitness - and depending on a reduction in wages in line with other defenders at the club - he'd be someone Celtic might be interested in. Lenny has gone on record in the recent past saying he is a player he would like to sign.

Our defence is'nt the problem we are just not creating enough and are far to dependant on hooper who is having one of his less productive periods so why would we want Dunne?

He's good. Not amazing, never was. He's getting on, but he's still good against slower strikers.

People wouldn't even be entertaining the idea of signing an ageing defender who is past his best, has no resale value, a huge wage bill, and who is playing for a bottom of the table Premier League side with one of the worst defences in the league, if he wasn't Irish and a Celtic fan. Same thing with Given saying he'd like to return to Celtic. They don't want to play for Celtic until no one else wants them. I'd rather that we sign another Wanyama or Ambrose, with the peak of their career yet to come. It's not as if he'd come cheap either. And why have we seemingly gone back to looking for Premier League rejects? If he's not good enough for Villa, he's not good enough for Celtic.

I'd have taken him a year ago, not so sure now.
