Reo Hatate

Given Hatate and Maeda have regularly been called up whilst here, I don’t think either of them will be desperate to leave at this stage. Kyogo is a great example of the grass isn’t always greener and any slim chance he had of making the WC squad has now vanished.

 

Hot and cold, but still a greater attacking threat, so has to play.

 

As I always say, he can be quiet and also obviously sloppy at times, but he has to be on the pitch as he can produce moments of pure magic like that.

I actually thought he was rotten before the goal, but what a goal it was.

Keeping him this summer will be massive.

 

What a fucken strike. Unsaveable. Pleasing to see one rocket in instead of smacking off the woodwork, like we have seen already this season. The luck is turning for us.

Hatate's value will have gone up a few notches more after that.

 

With Reo Hatate scoring a superb goal, are you confident you can keep hold of key players like him before the window closes?

We're trying to get players in, never mind letting them go. We haven't had any interest in players like Reo.

He is one of the few midfielders who can make those incisive passes. He'll give the ball away at times, which is the risk in his game, but then he produces a moment like that, which was a brilliant finish.

We want to build the squad, and while there are lots of areas I'm pleased with, there are others we will focus on to improve.

 

Outrageous finish.

Him and Nygren are essential when we have no quality in attack.

 

Was quiet and then all of a sudden pulls that out the bag. As said about when we have so little quality up the top end of the park keeping hatate fit is absolutely essential.

 

Just a phenomenal bit of skill to kill the game. Not looked great this season yet but as long as he's not off it enough to be a liability, it's vital he's on the pitch.

Hopefully he kicks into gear now after that.
