I'm enjoying it but the controls are difficult especially in melee combat, kinda think they took the realism thing abit too far also but it's very early yet so hopefully I'll get to grips with it.

Amount of detail they've put into this is insane.

Rode out from the second camp for the first time. Saw a guy mending his horse's hoof, asked him if he wanted any help and as he stood up his horse near enough bucked his head off. Horse ran for a bit but I caught up with it and calmed it, taking it back to camp to serve as my spare. Looted the poor chap before I did so, he had a fair amount on him including a valuable or two. His horse is an American Standardbread and has slightly better attributes than the Tennessee Walker, though I've got max bonding with the original horse so probably won't be switching just yet.

Rode back out after this and just explored for a bit, decided to do some deer hunting and eventually snagged one with the bow. On the way to take the carcass back came across a gentleman hollering about a snake bite. Rode near him and got a pop-up about my horse being spooked by the snake. Jumped off and helped the guy out, didn't want to waste medicine so sucked the venom out. Bid him farewell and went to jump back on my horse, pressed Y but the guy was walking past at the same time so instead of mounting my horse I accidently jumped the guy from behind and locked up his neck in a choke hold. Whoops. Let him go and he walked off in the other direction a bit frightened, and missing his hat.

Continued homeward with the deer carcass but came across a couple of O'Driscoll boys who decided to get a bit lippy. Wasn't a fan of their boastfulness so rode up the road a bit before hopping off and doubling back to lay down an ambush. Took them both out with my revolver, looted them and carried on my way.

After dropping the deer carcass off to Pearson at camp I wanted to clean my horse, got a message about it being dirty and that affecting its health core. You can brush them but you must need a brush or something because the option to do so shows up but you're not able to do it. So the nearest river was the only option. Took the horse down there and whilst washing him I heard some criminal shouting about injustice from the back of a passing Sherrif's wagon. Approached it and questioned the Sheriff as to what the man in the back had done, only to get a terse and rather rude response. I was unsatisfied with his manner so decided to set about freeing the man in the back, his innocence or otherwise was no longer my prime concern. Engaged in a shootout with the two lawmen on the wagon and eventually took both of them out. Hopped off my horse and shot the lock on the back, freeing the prisoner, only to be cut down in a hail of bullets by other Sheriffs who had ridden in to help their colleagues.

Should have stayed on my horse and shot the lock from the sadle, rather than hopping off and leaving myself with no escape. A rookie mistake that I won't be making again. I've now got a $10 bounty on my head.

I like it. I'm not very far in, but I like it.

The scenery is pretty stunning, the game looks and sounds amazing. There hasn't been a moment that grabs me and pulls me in yet, though. I'm not hooked like I have been with other games, but I'm hoping that's coming.

    That's me good to go.

Haven't had time to play it but it's going on now for a few hours before the game!

Let's see what all the fuss is about!

Bought the original out Argos a few months back for £11.99 and it was decent was upscaled to the Xbox One so let's see what it's like.

Class game but its a pain in the * how almost every mission makes you follow somecunt on your horse for about half an hour.

Controls are annoying as well keep going to talk to a * and accidentally pointing a gun at them. Then immediately get a wanted level and have to go and talk to my * horse for 5 mins to get my good guns off him.

Games quality apart from that though. Spent most of my time accidentally aggroing farmers then killing them and selling all their pigs to the butcher.

I know exactly what you mean about the controls. I was riding along and came across this woman who was stuck under her horse somehow. Lifted the horse so she could get out and went to take her back home but ended up grabbing her by the throat and scaring her away :56:

    Hunting advice needed :56:

Every * animal seems to give me a poor quality pelt. I'm using the bow and aiming for the head. Any idea what is going on or what I need to do?

Something similar happened to me with her. I was taking her back to her town on my horse and she was just finishing a sentence saying how lucky it was i passed by and it's the only good thing that has happened in a while to her, then i hit a rock she goes flying off the horse and dies:56:

Are you killing it in one hit? I usually aim for the heart, and I've had a few perfect pelts from deer this way.

Same with me, hit and rock and she went flying in the air. She didn't die but she started to run off so I shot the dog down.
