My mate sent me this a few years back. Apparently it came as a demo that was in Guitar Player magazine CD. I thought I'd share it with the world.

It's about a dead bird, and is called Dead Bird, and is as funny as *!

I think it's only really the production that needs cleaning up really. Cool lyrics.

Mine was 'dead bird lying on the ground,, does anybody cry for youou-ou?'

The silence halfway through where the bird lay in limbo waiting for it's fate, then the eruption of hate from it's tormented soul as it was judged that it shat on just too many peoples heads and was resigned to an afterlife in *.

A powerful, emotive classic in the making, if the OP could find the final work i would love to hear it.

The fallacy here is the lyric "I'm a dead bird lying lost and never found, does anyone cry for me, does anyone care I'm dead."

Some flaws. The bird is dead, so it couldn't ponder the question of anyone crying for its demise. Secondly, the use of the word "anyone" implies a human connection. Humans don't normally grieve the death of birds, least of all missing stranger birds, and this bird is a stranger. Make no mistake, it is lost and never found. Also, the bird ponders in the English language. So it makes me conclude that the bird is a parrot that escaped from a cage.

That is an amazing critique my man.

Just one thing. The writer implies the bird has a soul. And pondering from a feathered afterlife. I think. what a song.

So many layers to this piece, so many ways it can be deciphered.

Everytime i listen to it brand new emotions i've never felt before encompass my very being.

I sometimes think i am becoming 'dead bird', encapsulating my pain through it's torment.

I'm a fan of it myself, not really of the band but this song is insane in a good way. A biographical song of a night light, how mental do you have to a) think that's a good idea b) somehow put it together coherently.
