    Money wasn't the reason we didn't get him though, was because kids in Spain could only move to play abroad if their parents moved to work too. By the time he was old enough for us to move for him, he'd signed for Atleti and the rest was history.

    One of the great what might have beens of our history.

    Alfredo DiStefano is the other one, we almost signed him in 1964 - imagine the Lions with him up top!

    at the time i was gutted tat we had missed out on bullard but it actually turned out to be one of the best things that happened to us. if we had got him then we would of had an injury prone overrated player in his 30's instead of either Kayal or Ledley who are two of the best players we have right now imo.
