i didn't get that either mate. bringing sammy on, who plays out wide, to replace keane who's a middle of the field player makes no sense. if anything he should come on for fortune or kamara. having three center forwards playing out wide and we lost our shape? really?

i think keane and rassmusen up front would eb a great partnership
i dont see why TM is insistant on fortune he still has not go me impressed at all, granted he did score a couple of quality goals but with rassmussen there is no doubt he will score a bundle more
    give him a chance!

Keane is better beside a poacher and Rasmussen's the very man for the job.

Keane is a very mobile striker who likes to come deep and assist people, he sometimes takes a few chances to put the ball away.

Fortune shouldn't be played beside Keane, as I said Keane likes to assist people aswell as scoring and Fortune isn't the man to put the ball away given one chance.

Keane & Rasmussen to start until Keane leaves then Fortune and Rasmussen to start. I thought that would be the obvious choice.

His time will come,i think sunday could be the perfect day for him just pouncing on any loose scraps in and around the box,we might just see him
    come off the bench

He's just what we need. I like that way he can pounce on a lose ball after a scramble in the goal area and put it away without too much fuss. We don't have anyone else as good at doing that. If it wasn't for Keano arriving he'd be a dead cert to be turning out every week.

I have no clue to why he does not play more. Maybe keane has it in his contract he has to play a certain amount of games?

I agree that its not a good blend. You want one out and out poacher in a pairing. Keane is a great player but he is a 1 goal in 4 good chances sort of scorer. I think it should be Rass with either Keane or Fortune, unless we play 3 up.

He reminds me of Frank McAvennie, likes mixing it up with the big centre halfs :)

I don't understand the mentality that keane needs a poachers, was he not dynamite besides berbatov who is as much a second strikers as anybody else in the world?

I guess when you look down the road to next season you have to assume Keane won't be here. Thus Rasmussen and Fortune may well be the starting strike partnership at that point. Plus when you look at the strengths of both players it could well be a very productive partnership for us.

I don't think that it is realistic that ras could start this season , as Keano is on 65k a week and I can't see him not starting , also you have Fortune , who at the moment has a good scoring record and has performed well consistentsly , however when keane leaves I think with Fortune coming deep and ras poaching will make for an excellent partnership

I really like Fortune at the moment but with the amount of chances we create we need someone who 9 times out of 10 is going to score when its inside the box. We can't afford to do the same as the last game and have around 20 shots and score 1 goal. I think Rasmussen could do the job and finish off a few of these chances especially with Keane making runs and feeding him balls in the box.

Keane & Fortune have paired too well, was thinking the same thing yesterday, but as Fortune is Mowbray's #1, and Keane is Keane, don't think we'll see the best of Rassa until next season.

Fortune does a fair bit of lead up work as well as creating some of the chances though , he has some assists now and taking him out will weaken one area to strengthen another.. I haven't seen Rasmussen's link up play but the stories about him being good in the air lead me to think that him and Keane would be ideal if we were a long ball team and get the ball into the box at the earliest opportunity but TM's style of crafting goals from defence to midfield to forwards and wingers probably means Fortune plays too important a role to drop out , and to do that just as the partnership with Keane is building would be crazy in a game of such importance.. We don't even know if the guy (Rasmussen) has enough stamina to last half an OF game or if he's like Paddy Mccourt in terms of fitness.
Also , If we play Keane and Rasmussen from the start and they fail to make the breakthrough with the score being 0-0 at 65 minutes , would you then be happy that Samaras and Fortune (predominantly outside the box players) are sent on with 25 minutes left to try and save our season..

Lots of things to consider before sending out a team..
That's why I think it's unlikely that we'll see Keane and Rasmussen starting any of the remaining games together..

I'm still not convinced by Fortune, aye he's chipping in with goals and assists at long last but his minutes on the pitch to goal ratio is not great. Would love to see a Keane & Rasmussen combination get a start against the huns. If it's not working let a fresh and pacy Fortune come on for the last 20mins.
