    Commons will probably be phased out next year after the CL games and retire/transfer to a 'semi-retirement' team at the end of the season. Stokes is a goner I think, and if Forrest gets any interest I think he'll take the move.

    I don't think any of these signings will 'do for' anyone that wasn't due for a change out naturally at this stage. They seem more like long term planning in effect.

    Can't remember that, however, Falk is a Dane that has only ever played and lived in Denmark. GMS is a Scot that played in the same League - didn't have to acclimatise to the Country, the food, the weather or the lifestyle. He also had his best mate joining the same Club at the same time. So slightly different scenarios.

    Falk Jansen has said he will be moving on to a team who wins trophies and wants to take the next step into the Denmark team, I knew Ronny was in Norway on Saturday and Sunday and nobody knew why, think we might know in the next few days, that says to me, it could be us, as he has been linked with Lille and Stuttgart and I don't know the last time the won anything domestically?

    He still had to settle into a new team, and get used to the players round about him, just like Falk would. Slightly different scenarios, but bringing them both in now instead of the summer would be the correct thing to do.

    I don't think I ever questioned bringing GMS in early? My point with him was Sheffield United had just bid 80k for him and we were being asked to stump up 250k for 6 months of a player that wasn't an automatic pick at Dundee United.

    By all accounts Falk is rated higher, in that respect 250k would be reasonable.

    You didn't want to bring him in at that point because of the fee Dundee Utd wanted, which is the exact same fee being asked for Falk. I argued that 250k was nothing in the grand scheme of things when you take into account that we would be trying to get him settled in for the CL qualifiers. I have the same feeling in regards to this deal.

    Correct so what's your point?

    I rate Falk higher than GMS plus the settling in period is more required for a foreigner, what relevance does the GMS deal have to this one?

    I still wouldn't give you 250 grand for GMS and I'd still give you 250 grand for Falk.
