Is this deal likely to happen?

I think my hypothesis that Deila has been given a greater control over transfers is coming to fruition.

These are the markets we should be exploiting, some of the best value for money in world football plus we're a jump up from just about every Club there.

Having a Scandinavian manager doesn't hurt either.

    Nobody knows yet.

Just been rumoured that we are in talks with them about a deal but he is wanted by clubs in France and Germany.

I was remembering today what Ronny was saying earlier on about us having to exploit/utilize the Scottish market - perhaps that hasn't worked out exactly how he has wanted, and is now going back to his roots?

If that's the case, then happy days - although we have still benefited from the signing of Armstrong, and even Mackay-Steven to a degree.

Yeah Ronny said he wanted more young Scottish players in, obviously seeing we had missed out on some but then a few bad decisions by the scouts or Ronny in who we went for.

In saying that of course you're right GMS and Armstrong hit the ground running, GMS on form is a good winger & Armstrong has lots of quality & potential.
Christie is probably more along the lines of what we are looking for.

But there is no doubt we need to be using the Scandinavian market for players that can step into the 1st team straight away for the CL.

Could be right, and about time as well. Because no chance I can buy in to the idea that ciftci, boyata, blackett, janko, baily are deila signings. All too much linked with other transfer links that we have used in the past.

Would be happy with this signing a I know little, but the little I do know could do well for us.

Tonev was already on our list, as was Wakaso.

Berget he knew so you can see that, all 3 Dundee United boys? Doubt it, PVH being Ciftci's agent is too much of a coincidence.

The Man City connection was Deila though so Denayer and Guidetti would have been his signings.

Can't help but feel there's also been a bit of, "buy young Scots before the huns get them, which is probably a good thing, we should be trying to have the best Scottish players. Mix them with some clever buys like this, and we might actually have an okay transfers policy

    Jesus.

For £150k it's a no brainer, surely? If he's interested, of course.

I'd rather Elyonoussi but would love both, as they are both natural wingers.

Would mean having to punt a few out the door mind. Stokes, Boerrigter, maybe GMS and one of the other 'number 10's to go out on loan. Maybe McGregor.

I think we'll be in for both of them.

Our defeats to Scandinavian teams has probably opened the boards eyes to the quality of player on offer. Coupled with Ronny's knowledge, I'll think this will a market we will begin to exploit

It would make sense to sign both, even more so if the £150,000 being quoted is true, at least then we would have two (apparently) good, natural wingers on either side.

I don't think signing both of them would really bloat either of those positions either to be honest. If we ignore Stokes & Boerrigter, since one's gone and the other won't be far behind him, they're only really competing with Armstrong, McGregor, Forrest and GMS. Forrest could potentially be on his way out, GMS seems to be relegated to sub appearances, McGegor is decent enough but hasn't really nailed down a place in the starting XI and Armstrong is only really playing where he is because of the lack of a natural LM/LW in the first place (and arguably because the of the number of attacking mids we have).
