Some folk need to get real. He was excellent at world cup and we should definitely have a look at him.

Taking him on trial is okay, but we should leave it up to Lenny and the coaching team to see how he does. Remember, the same scouts that found Izzy, Kayal, Hooper etc are the ones who've been looking at this guy and their track record in the past couple of seasons has been excellent, ever since Lenny took over.

Not necessarily, might be another one of Lennon's "tip offs", hence just a trial.

Either way, there will be no harm done. It's worth having a look at him and seeing if he can add anything to the squad.

I sincerely doubt it, as I've already mentioned, its not really a squad player we need. And you just have to look at Hooveild to see trials aren't that good, especially for a defender. Yes, we didn't get him on a trial, but he had hardly a chance in the team, yet when he gets a run of games in the Champioship, he's a standout player. I just think we need to push the boat out on 1 quality defender, as we have enough central defenders as it is, most of who aren't as bad as people on here make out!!

decent player, know him very well as he is from the neighboring country to mine. He lacks a bit of pace but he is very solid and does not put up with anything.

You misunderstand me. I didn't say anywhere that it'd be a good idea to sign him up, but there will still be no harm done just by looking at him and seeing how he is. If he's rubbish, then we let him go. Simples.

I can only remember his efforts for Algeria at the world cup and he was impressive then but that was a while ago. I'm not convinced he is better than anyone already on the books but if he has impressed enough to be signed in January then we need to trust the judgement made by Lenny and the backroom staff.

Meanwhile let's just wait and see. I'm sure there are other targets being looked at also. Finding one who fits the bill and we can afford though is another matter.

I would prefer we held out for Juhasz personally, but if he proves to be a bargain, then I will defer to Lenny's excellent judgement on players.

I am not sure but I know that Rangers went for Juhasz in the summer, Anderlecht wanted 3.5 million for him but they did not pay it

We have so many 'squad' level CBs already - and to be honest, I would also include the current 'starters' and Charlie in that assessment - even if Maj & Loovens had a couple of decent games recently.
We really need an established quality guy in that can be head & shoulders above the rest - literally & fuguratively!! :)
Remember when we used to have center halves that you could almost bank on scoring headers from corners?
If we get were to get rid of ODea, Thomson, Loovens & Maj - still leaves Mulgrew, Wilson, Rogne - then I would say there may be room for someone like Halliche - but not at the exclusion of a Juhasz level of player coming in as a primary starter.

    Agree with this.

I think people exaggerate how bad our center halfs are. We have about 6 cbs that can do a decent job and this guy sounds like another one of these. We need a stand-out cb. One that will make game winning challenges.
