Does this annoy anyone else?
Ok, it is clear we are ahead of them and are a better side. BUT, is there any need to come out like McAvennie, Hartson, Walker etc all did and put them down...
All it does is give them more of a reason to turn up. I mean, Hill's post match interview summed it up, the comments had clearly riled them up.
Dembele as well, in the press dropping hints at another hat-trick, scoring 5 etc....I hate it when it happens. Leave the talking to the players on the park. Or in Moussa's case, do it yourself.

Yes it angers me soo * much. It makes their team talk much easier and makes them want to go out and prove a point. I honestly think our players listen to it as well and believe their own hype and slack off a bit, they are only human after all.
I wish the club would get in touch with ex players and ask them to keep that * to themselves.ChrisMoh likes this. -
Having a walkover of a game doesn't make good viewing. I think pundits knew they had to stir Rangers up to make a game of it.

Aye it fired those * up, let's do our talking on the park, we were terrible today and got bullied all over the park, don't want to sound like sour grapes but Madden is a blatant cheat.

I hate that too mate. I remember Mjallby saying we would do this and that at the Shitpit years ago. The score was 4-0 going on 8-0 that day. That was when Advocat was their manager, the cheating years

It also heaps extra pressure on you as a player yourself. There isn't really a benefit to it.CalgaryBhoy likes this. -
Not just pundits. So many Celtic fans saying "aw I think we'll beat the 7-1 record score". * off.
-
The pundits weren't the reason we didn't win today.
We have to look at our own failures, we gifted the unwashed that draw.
We should be beating them comfortably, that is the reality.
Our passing was absolutely atrocious. -
Am superstitious as *, never predict a Celtic score.
-
Pundits have a job to do,regardless of what they say players should be focused on their own game period. If a player is influenced by what pundits are saying he should give it up.

It's worth a discussion, though. As it seems to annoy a lot of us. -
I'd said it during the week, how these comments weren't 'helpful'.
The players and management would have thought, privately, a big win was on the cards today - but they'd never come out and say that publicly. For the same reason they haven't talked about the treble or an unbeaten season.
It's puts extra pressure on, and sets you up for a fall.
But these guys are paid to create a headline, and don't necessarily have the interests of the team at heart.Mr Shelby likes this. -
I dont care tbh, people slag teams all the time and then go on to pump them. It's only ever brought up when it doesnt happen.
-
I just don't get it. It practically does part of a managers job

Im not bothered about motivating Sevco because we should be better than them no matter what, it was our poor performance today that cost us the win not anything they did.
Although McAvennie and any other Celtic fan banging on about record score lines and 8-nil's before the game is idiotic. What purpose does it serve and even if we'd beaten Sevco 2 or 3-0 today it would still give the zombies the opportunity to say "aye but you never got any record score lines against us"...id leave the bullshit talk to the sevconians.Last edited: Mar 12, 2017
