They're not a big club, but they've been in the Bundesliga for five straight seasons (and their 6th next season) and acheived 5th place last year. They lost loads of key players last summer and their second half of the season has been great.

I think the signing of Griffiths half way through the season has already shown how little faith Lennon had in Pukki (or Balde). With only the SPFL to play for, a striker wasn't essential if he thought Pukki could cope.

Certainly not a bad player but he'd be wasting his career here as he'll only ever be a bit part player.

I talked to a German guy who followed Freiburg as he lives there. He said that Pukki would fit to Freiburg, and would gladly take him there. He said he would do good in a smaller club, as he got talent, but he needs to be given time to show it, which he would get in Freiburg.

I wish he would lighten up a bit.

It's pretty obvious that you don't know any Finns. We only lighten up when we're drunk - and even then, only for a while before melancholy, anger and finally coma set in: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAl9OyGYxOg"]The Finnish Way of Drinking - Robert Gustafsson - YouTube[/ame]

But back to the subject: I hope Pukki stays in Celtic. Just because I think he has more to offer and a lot to prove, and because Celtic is one of the few teams that I identify with. Freiburg? Bah!

I really don't know what to think about Pukki as a player. One day I think it would be best for him if he left but then the next day I want him to stay. If we're being honest he has been underwhelming and not shown the extra attributes, in addition to technical ability, that you need to have to be a successful Celtic forward. I'd maybe give him until January to see if he has learnt from his first season because he shown glimpses of what he can do.

That's all very well and good, but the reality is he'll never be a striker for us. He's not prolific enough in front of goal. He also doesn't seem to have his heart in making it here with us. Just don't think he has it in him to strive in Scottish football and probably wants a move away.

Btw if he's Finlands best striker I feel for you.

I read this too many times!

Ok, he didn't scrore that much after he came to Celtic. So it took some time, too many games to speak frankly.

His scoring stats overall are good, partly rather impressive.

Pukki HJK 2010: 163 minutes per goal
    Pukki HJK 2011: 104 min
    Pukki Schalke 2011/12: 122 min
    Pukki Schalke 2012/13: 149 min
    Pukki Celtic 2013/14: 171 min

    He absolutely can score.

The problem is he's not good enough to force his way in to get a run in the team because stokes and griffiths are more deadly and always will be. He's maybe being played out of position, poss behind the strikers would suit him. But as he's a striker for thd money he cost he should be up the top end in the goal scoring charts and ain't .

There's no always and no nevers. I like both Stokes and Griffiths. However Pukki can be as deadly as them. He definitely has the skills. We've yet to see all he can do.

That's in the Scottish Premiership only.

His overall minutes per goal is 212 minutes, he never scored a goal out-with the league for us.

I wouldn't mind giving him another season but, if we can get our money or as close to it as possible back then I would sell him. I don't want to sell Balde, though.

If we can get our money back take it and run . Tony Watt would bring more to the side than Pukki and we can use the money we get from Pukki to sign the type of striker we need.

:50: I think hes a good player and has done pretty well since Christmas when given the chance. Good ball player who i think would be decent in Europe. Although he started in a few European games last season i feel he wasnt settled then. Just needs more games

Just because he dosnt run around crazy after scoring a goal dosnt mean hes not interested. Everyone has their own personality. I think he knows that he has still got to prove himself to some fans and perhaps when he starts banging in a few more he'l celebrate a bit more.

I do like Pukki. We do see glimpses of his quality and I would like to have him here for at least another season as he will definitely be more settled and hopefully better prepared for the campaign. He came in with half of the season gone and that makes it only more difficult to get settled into the league.
