[PS3] Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

It still is Winning Eleven. That's just what it's called in Japan.

 

Well I mean when the series was called that here. The quality and gameplay was unreal compared to FIFA.

 

I'm a massive pro evo fan but if you take a step back and look at what this offers compared to fifa it's * shocking. Pro evo always had the gameplay so the features didn't matter quite as much but this year they have released a half finished, bug riddled mess and to add insult to injury removed half the features. I tried my hardest to get into it but gave up in the end and traded it in. I may pick it up again cheap if the November patch fixes the issues but i'm not holding out much hope.

 

Giant sweaty balls are what Konami have placed on their customers faces with this horseshit this year.

What are they up to releasing this dungola? EA are * themselves. I really wanted a great PES this year to give EA a challenge but now..... .

 

Does the full game fix the one thing that totally ruins the demo, the shocking reaction times? So many times you press a button to pass or change direction and it feels like whatever animation is playing at that particular moment has to complete itself before it will attempt to do whatever you've just commanded. Other than this it's the best PES in years but I don't want to buy the full thing if there isn't some improvement on this because it affects the game almost all the time.

 

I actually think it's worse in the full game than in the demo. On ps3 you also have the full game going into almost slow motion mode when in the final 3rd sometimes. There is supposed to be a patch fixing the issues coming out in November but if they were happy to release the game in the state it's in i'm not so sure they will be able to fix everything.

 

Havent played it in a few weeks has it changed much since the new patch? just downloading the update the now. Supposedly Brown, Forrest, Mulgrew, Commons, Stokes and Lustig now have their faces.

 

I bought it last week for £20. done the updates, Broonys face in it does look like him.

I have been away from PES for a good while, has the defending been revamped? Seems to be hard to get used to. Also trying to get away from players going forward is tough, seem to always catch up and pull you so you can't run. I know the game is a different pace from Fifa and i have adapted to the slow build up play, but the defending and getting away from defenders seems to be completely revamped since i last played it.

 

Before i traded it it tapping on the run button repeatedly worked for bursting free from defenders. Don't know if they have changed it in the patch though.

 

Holy thread bump batman, traded this in about a month after getting it because it was utter pish. Bought it again during the psn Christmas sale as it was only £10 and after a couple of patches they seem to have sorted the gameplay out. World Cup mode is being released as doc next week for £8 as well.

So they have a cheek to release an unfinished game for £40 then expect us to pay £8 for dlc. Poor show konami. I mean the dlc doesnt even have any extra stadiums, just a new ball and some kits. And this international challenge crap, all it is, is the international cup with some qualifiers added in!

 

I know, they seem to have * off a very large percentage of their customers this year ( including me) with their antics but strangely enough I seem to be playing this more than next gen FIFA. I'll still not be buying the dlc though.

 

They can't release a proper world cup dlc as EA have the license for that and are bringing out a full priced game for it in April

I installed it (and after the * * awful way of updating it) managed to get on, and the best part of the game is the CL music. Honestly, best part is booting that game up while I'm on the PC playing FM, and the CL music plays in the background. The moment I turn to play PES, it destroys my soul. Such a * game, and I really struggle to see why people enjoy it these days.

Used to be brilliant, but they seem to have got stuck in 2006.

 

It's * how there is no decent football games now.

I enjoyed pro evo 2013 so much more. But it's hard to find a game on it half the time.

Playing Fifa 14 at the moment for the PS4, pretty enjoyable but still feels like the game plays for you half the time. There is hardly any skill in shooting, you smack the shoot button and hope the script in the game accepts as a goal.

The problem with FIFA is they don't understand that in football the ball is a separate entity from the players. The ball still is like a magnet. Pro evo has always had that, so always felt like you were playing.

In pro evo, you can beat a new player about 5-0 easy, in FIFA if you are playing a new player ypu could have 40 shots on target, miss them all. Then he takes his first shot in the 90th minute and you are beaten!

 

Wouldn't go that far. Pro Evo was far superior to Fifa up until about Pro 9. Although for me Pro Evo up to 2006 were tremendous. Fifa 10 & 11 were decent, Fifa 12 was superb the best yet, Fifa 13 was great, Fifa 14 is awful, but a do love the new slower feel to that game. Just my opinions though.

But yeh a agree way Tim there is no decent football game out this year. It's first time in years that am not constantly playing a football game.

But for me Fifa is the best of the two these days and has been for about 4-5 years now. It's * how far Pro has sunk since the good old days, used to spend many hours on Master League
