Some sections of Scottish society think that we won't make millions from this tour.

... We were reportedly paid £6m for two games in Australia.

You can bet your * that we're making a minimum of £5m from this tour.

Even some of the rumps are pointing out the obvious, we simply wouldn't be flying to the other side of the world if there wasn't money in it for us, the mental gymnastics and blind denial from the rest is hilarious.

Would love to see us play against Ange and Daizans old team Yokohama. Play a similar style that would be some match up. Hopefully the Japan boss will be watching as well whilst Hatate scores a 40 yard thundercunt

Should hopefully be confirmed soon, See one of the Korean games is the following week 26th of July.

We will likely do a 10 day or so Euro camp starting the 3rd of July or there abouts.

Then head to Japan and on to South Korea. So best guess is that w/c 17th for the Japan tour but I am only guessing and going by the rumour from Dan O on Twitter. I don’t know how many games we are playing so may even be there earlier.

Interesting that Ange told the rest of the league to go to the back of the queue, if we want a player we’ll get the player because we’ve shown we look after the Japanese/Korean bhoys.

His first touch is something else man. Watching him on Sunday there and he controlled a wild long ball out the air with one touch. Was superb stuff.

We are pleased to announce that Yokohama F. Marinos will be the first opposition for the newly-crowned cinch Premiership Champions as part of the Celtic FC Japan Tour 2023 to be held in July this year.

Ange Postecoglou’s back-to-back champions will face his former club at the Nissan Stadium on Wednesday, July 19 and it’s a match that he is looking forward to.

The Celtic manager said: “I’m delighted to be taking Celtic to Japan this summer and it’s a tour made even more special by the prospect of facing my old team, Yokohama F. Marinos.

“It’s a great club that holds some special memories for me and I look forward to meeting up with friends there in July.”

The game will also be a special one for Daizen Maeda, who is returning to his former club, having spent 18 months there before moving to Scotland.

The Celtic attacker, who has enjoyed a very impressive season in the green and white Hoops, said: “I’m really looking forward to our pre-season visit to Japan and in particular, returning to play against Yokohama F. Marinos.

“It is a club which has played a major role in my career and, of course, it will be a pleasure to return home with Celtic and see my friends at the club and the Marinos supporters.”

Yokohama F. Marinos midfielder, Takuya Kida, is looking forward to welcoming Celtic to Japan, and he said, “I am very excited to play against Celtic FC, led by Ange Postecoglou, who has made a great contribution to our club.

“I have friends in Celtic FC with whom I have shared good times. There are many other great players as well. We will do our best and play together to show the world how great Yokohama F. Marinos can be.”

Tickets for the match between Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic on Wednesday, July 19 (KO: 7pm Japanese time) will go on sale at https://w.pia.jp/t/celtic-japantour2023 from this Friday, May 12 (10am Celtic Park time).

Got to go at that price mate! Jetstar has pretty cheap prices out of Melbourne so will be booking in the coming days. Checked with the Perth Bhoys & Sydney Bhoys & both are heading across so we're trying to align accom just now. Looks like we'll all be in the Shinjuku area. Will be cracking!!

I’m in Japan, but unfortunately can’t make the game due to work commitments!
Hopefully the next game will be arranged for the following weekend!

I’d recommend staying in the Shinjuku area, plenty of Irish and Celtic friendly bars!

I know there’s a Celtic supporters club called Tokyo CSC, maybe you could get in contact with them directly and find out the best spots?!

I will second the recommendation to stay in Shinjuku. Top area, plenty of good restaurants and bars. Easy transfers to Shinjuku from the airport by bus and it looks like it’ll be easy enough to get to the stadium from there, about 50 minutes to an hour by train, cost about £7-8 return. Google maps is great for the trains up there.

Shibuya is another good area, probably about 10-15 minutes closer to the stadium with similar.

Gamba Osaka VS Celtic to be held in late July Two-time league champion Maeda, Furuhashi and five other Japanese players

It was revealed on the 9th that Gamba Osaka will play a friendly match against Celtic (Scotland) this summer. It will be held at home Panasta in late July when the J1 league is temporarily suspended. It will be officially announced after the approval of the board of directors.

Celtic is led by manager Postecoglou, who led Yokohama until 2021. Japan national team forward Daizen Maeda, who scored at the World Cup in Qatar, and forward Toru Furuhashi, the first Japanese player to score 30 goals in an official match in a major European league. Go and five other Japanese members are enrolled. It is a prestigious team that has won the league title 53 times in the country, including winning the league title for the second time in a row on the 7th.

They have already announced their first Japan tour in 17 years, and on this day they officially announced their match against Yokohama. While looking for another opponent, Gamba Osaka, who had a lot of experience playing against overseas clubs, held friendly matches with Paris Saint-Germain (France) and Frankfurt (Germany) last year.

Gamba Osaka, who are trying to rebuild the prestigious team under manager Daniel Poyatos this season, are currently in a difficult situation with 12 wins in 12 league games and 17th place. I want to improve the team condition by the first match with the Scottish leader and make it a fruitful experience.
