The Champions are back as the preparations for the 2022/23 season began at Lennoxtown today (Monday).

Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff welcomed back members of the squad to the training centre for the first session of pre-season, with another bumper campaign ahead for the team as they get set to battle on the domestic and European front.

After a remarkable double-winning campaign in the last term, where the Bhoys lifted the League Cup and the Scottish Premiership, the many of the team enjoyed a well-earned break over the month of June, but the hard work is now back underway as they look to defend their titles

With UEFA Champions League football on the horizon also, it’s an important period for the manager as he looks to get the team up to his required standard to compete on each front.

Not all of the first-team arrived at Lennoxtown for this first day of work, with all those involved in international matches with their country taking an extended break.

There were new faces to welcome on the first day of training, with Benjamin Siegrist getting his initial experience of a session as a Celtic player after arriving from Dundee United last week.

On the coaching side, it was also the first opportunity for Harry Kewell to get to work with his new squad members as the coach took part in his first session since arriving as part of the manager’s staff.

After a week at Lennoxtown, the Hoops will then jet off to Austria next Monday as the friendly matches start to get underway, with less than five weeks to go until the league campaign gets going at home to Aberdeen.

What’s the odds Forrest and MJ are already out injured again after todays session?

No sign of Ajeti or Soro in those videos, two players who you would have thought would have been due back given they weren’t on International duty.

I’m expecting big things from bosun lawal. I reckon he will be kept in the first team squad as back up cb and he can play cdm too. Hopefully he does well. Seen Johnny kenny there too but I get a feeling he won’t make an impact. Hopefully I’m wrong

Mate got in touch with the ticket office. Celtic won’t have anything to do with the ticket sales, need to get them direct from RV. They go on sale Monday. I’ll be getting myself one & flying across. 1st time seeing the Bhoys for years, since they were last in Australia so pretty excited for this even if it’s a preseason jobby

Wonder how much ‘later in the week’ we’ll see the internationals, Jota and Bernie in training.

I thought tomorrow would be the day but if the kit reveal is actually Friday then maybe they’ll be back on Friday so Jota can be unveiled in it.

Wish it would hurry up either way.

    https://www.celticfc.com/news/2022/...now-for-pre-season-friendlies-at-celtic-park/

The Celts are off to Austria this week as the team re-group for their pre-season training camp, with Ange Postecoglou and his coaching team ready to put the Bhoys through their paces in preparation for the 2022/23 campaign.

With both Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers having signed permanently for the Celts, they’ll join up with their team-mates and new Bhoys, Ben Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei on the continent as the Hoops warm up for the new season.

There are a number of pre-season friendlies in the schedule for the Celts during their trip, but supporters don’t have long to wait to welcome the Champions home to Celtic Park with Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City both making the trip to Paradise later this month.

Newly-appointed Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Blackburn side will make the trip north on Saturday, July 16 (KO 12:30pm) and we’ll welcome 2020/21 EFL Championship winners Norwich to Paradise on Saturday, July 23 (KO 3pm).

These friendlies will be the first chance to see the HoopsBhoys at home since Trophy Day, when Ange and the Bhoys lifted the league title to double their silverware count for the season.

With new signings and new kits, preparations are well underway to hopefully another successful campaign.

FRIENDLIES INCLUDED ON 2022/23 SEASON TICKET

Can't wait to see us back in action as you don't realise just how much you miss the football until it's not there.

I've always wondered why the Scottish leagues don't go to summer football because of that exact reason. Football fans during the summer would watch any league, if the SPFL was to run through the EPL off season surely there would be more wriggle room in the TV deal. It could benefit the Scottish game hugely and the fans would get a better experience out of it, I'd much rather go watch the lads play a Tuesday night against Ross County in the evening summer sun rather than the pitch dark, gale force winds and * rain in Nov/December.

Our league gets plenty viewers, plenty crowds. The only reason the deals are so * is one man. Doncaster. When clubs can get better sponsorship deals than the entire league then you know what the problem is.

As for summer football? * sitting it during the winter with no football to watch. Atleast we can do other stuff in the summer when the weathers awrite.
