That Slavia Prague manager is the profile of manager we should be looking at.

Absolutely but I’m not convinced we can attract that type of manger with the current board’s level of ambition.

Surely after the Euros, he'd fancy a crack at WC qualifiers. Would be a complete 180 from him after saying he couldn't deal with the baggage of managing in Glasgow.

Why would Killie players know about our next manager. I know he was manager there but still a strange one. Bizarre merry-go-round, trip it 8s to be a hoops fan the now.

I would have took Clarke as a temporary solution to see out this season, back in November/December, but not as a permanent choice. Don't think it would work for him here long term.

Aye I don't think Clarke would fancy it after his goldfish bowl comments

Would take Clarke in a heartbeat, but can see him sticking with Scotland for a good while.. Fair enough.

We allegedly looked at Clarke a while ago but decided against due to “personal issues”.

I don’t think he would work for the current regime because of that.

Can’t believe we missed out on Tommy Wright though!

Roberto Martinez and Sean Maloney would be tasty as *. A realistic and feasible appointment too, but probably would happen after the Euros, and even then I think Martinez might want another crack at the WC with Belguim in 2022.

Eddie Howe is another really tasty and feasible appointment, but the main stumbling block would likely be his homesickness; he & his family really love Bournemouth and he left Burnley cos he missed it so much. Still, I think he might be tempted with a move to a vibrant sprawling metropolis like Glasgow and plus there’s the lure of the Champions’ League (which he’s never experienced) and regular domestic silverware.

Steve Clarke is a good shout too, but just not as appealing as Martinez or Howe, imo. Think he might want to try and qualify for the 2022 WC, anyway. Still, could be one for the future.

Why would Martinez come here? He manages one of the best international teams in the world. He could get a far better gig than Celtic.

Agreed. Maloney on his own is more likely!

To be fair, and I am in no way comparing the two managers, Chris Coleman done a far better job with Wales than Martinez has done with Belgium, in terms of punching above their weight and he walked out on Wales for a crack at a dying Sunderland team who were in the bottom 3 of the championship, Michael O Neil done similar for N.Ireland and Stoke. I don't think International football is even really considered anymore. I think most EPL clubs will look at how * Everton were under him and maybe stay away. I wouldn't be against Martinez but I don't think he's as unrealistic as some folk think. He is certainly more realistic than Rafa Benitez, Ralf Ragnick or Allegri like I have seen some people ask.

I absolutely hate Roberto Martinez and if it ever happened I’d expect this to be quoted with his absolute success :56:

He’s a frustrating manager that think’s he’s cleverer than anybody else, like when he was playing De Bruyne in defensive midfield.

Ivan Jurić of Hellas Verona would be my favourite, somewhat realistic pick. He's brought them far away from relegation, and into firm mid-table Serie A tier. He might fancy the challenge of playing a team with higher aims.

heard a very very credible rumor today.

This extremely trustworthy source says ....

... We haven't even had a conversation, at any level, about a manager change.

The source btw is good ol' plain "common sense", corroborated by his good friends "past experience" and "harsh reality"

This whole thread... whilst a half decent wet dream of possibilities, is an utter waste of time.
