Potential CL Groups

I think our group may be this

WERDER BREMEN
CELTIC
GALATASARAY

Think Celtic could take enough points from that group esp if the huns bet both lyon and bremen last season. However going to turkey could be tricky.

 

think thats still a very tricky group. just because Rangers beat a team doesn't mean we will. they were very flukey last season, should never of won most of the games they did.

 

Looking at the draw for the third round I think a good few of the seeded teams may go out which wouldn't be bad for us at all.

Want to avaoid Cheslsea at all costs. After the UEFA cup final last season and the huns non involvment this season it would be the ideal opportunity for them to stir up trouble and blaim us.

We really want Shalke to beat Athletico Madrid, cause if Madrid win they go into pot 4 and Juventus go up to pot 2.

 

i only put up the teams that are expected to get through. but your right. there is alot of difficult qualifiers and hopefully some big names go out.

Nope cant make it into pot 2.

 

i think this year, more than any other before, it looks like every team in pot 3 are of equal or of a better standard than most of teams in pot 2. should be a very interesting CL this year.

 

FC Basel moved into pot 3 after the huns getting bombed out.

 

not strictly true. if Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Schalke, Juventus and Marseille (or Panathinaikos instead of one of these teams) get knocked out in the qualifiers we would jump up a pot. chances are we will be stuck in pot 3. but we can hope some team above us get knocked out in the qualifiers so we would miss some of the 'big guns' of pot 4 as they would jump up into our pot (eg. Fenerbahce).

 

we would need 3 out of the following 4 to get knocked out. Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus and Barcelona, so really we dont have a hope in * of going into pot 2.

Thats assuming Steau Bucurest, Panathiniokos, Marselle and Schalke also go out, so in my opinion there is no chance.

7 out the 8 who have to play a qualifer need to get knocked out.

 

Nah no real chance of us getting in pot 2, really I'm just hoping the really good teams in pot 4 get bumped into pot 3.

 

To be honest mate, Lyon were rank at home and bremen were average at home and shocking at ibrox i have seen pub teams defend better than bremen did at ibrox.

 

i thought Bremen ran the show against Rangers in Germany and there goalkeeper lost the tie for them at Ibrox.

one bad game for Lyon means they aren't tricky? they hammered Rangers at Ibrox 3-0, something we haven't done in a while. Rangers had a flukey season. i still think that your group you chose is still a tricky group, but then again in the CL what isn't a tricky group?

Aslong as we don't get Barca i think we could get the 3 home wins again.

Barca know they can beat us home and away.

 

Any idea when the draw for groups is? It'd be nice to avoid some of the better 2 seeds and some of the landmines in the 4th pool.
