    Never been to celticfc.net pal?

    History
Celtic Football Club was founded in 1888. Its principal founder was a Marist Brother named Walfrid. The Club had two principal aims: The first aim was to raise funds to provide food for the poor of the East End of Glasgow, an area of the City that was greatly impoverished and had a high rate of infant mortality. Within the East End was a large Irish community and friction was growing between the native Glaswegians and the new influx of Irish. Brother Walfrid saw the need for social integration and his vision was a football club that Scottish and Irish, Protestants and Catholics alike could support. A new football club would be a vehicle to bring the communities together and this was the second aim. The Marist brother sought for the Club to have both a Scottish and Irish identity and hence, the Club’s name “Celtic” came about, representing a bridge of cultures across the Irish Sea.
Current Positioning of Celtic Football Club
Celtic Football Club is a Scottish football club with proud Irish links. The primary business of Celtic is as a football club. It is run on a professional business basis with no political agenda. However, the Club has a wider role and the responsibility of being a major Scottish social institution promoting health, well-being and social integration.
Who is Celtic Football Club for?
Celtic Football Club is for people who want to support a football club that strives for excellence in Scotland and in Europe, is proud of its history, supportive of its local community and seeks to support the following aims: “To maximise all opportunities to disassociate the Club from sectarianism and bigotry of any kind. To promote Celtic as a Club for all people, regardless of gender, age, religion, race or ability.”
    Summary
Celtic is a club for everyone who believes in football as a medium for healthy pleasure, entertainment and social integration. The Club always has been and always will simply aim to be the team of the people.

Living among Celtic fans and other fans in other areas might expose you to more diversity then? You have experience of some Celtic fans.

You said it was a minority- yes. But generalising about the Army is not something you can do in my view. Those that did those things are criminals that happened to be in the army.

I was saying that maybe you think the majority agree with you because the people who sing and protest maintain the rebel in them. But see, the other fans may not have to sing or to even discuss their views- they may not have any. I think everyone notices the stand-outs more- the rebel type.

Your denying the British forced the repatriation of millions of Irishmen, woman and children. You are denying the British murdered tens of thousands of Irish peasants by refusing them to help them. We are talking about Ireland mate.....30 odd miles from Scotland at one point, and the Scots didn't starve did they? * disgrace...bet you believe all the other * they feed you? W

Thats what I am saying mate, the recent wars have really damaged the whole campaign and Celtic fans who disagree with it are being strongly criticised for raising legitimate concerns which every week at Westminster are raised with protesters outside.

yes but this is where the split comes in the fans due to fans like yourself not knowing the hate some people have for the british army for their deed they can not see why they are insulted at the poppy being on their beloved hoops

Agreed 100% . Absoloute embarasement, Im actually raging at what they done. theres loads of stuff happening just now which could maybe give us a level playing field behind the scenes as it looks as though the SFA is going to implode. Instead of applying more pressure to the SFA and the likes we are now the bad guys in the warped scottish media. Wake up GB and see the harm and embarrasment you bring to our great club and the VAST majority of supporters. We want to disasociate from THEM but you have stooped to thier level again. YOU DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME AND PROBABLY 99% OF THE SUPPORT. SUPPORT CELTIC DONT EMBARASS THEM :31:

The day I take advice on how to support my club from businessmen and suits is the day I'll decide to pack it all in.

Being Celtic minded and supporting Celtic are two different things all together.

You're kidding, right? Have you been taught how to construct sentences?

in terms of political agenda, how does anti-discrimination grab ye? Just look at modern examples such as our support to Palestine, where as the likes of hamburg and rangers have supported Israel in recent conflicts
