Perhaps being up oneself is not only a West Central Scotland saying. Fair enough. It does, however, reflect a more prevalent attitude among many who live in this region of Scotland to anybody who wishes to rise above ones station.

What would concern me is that you took the time to Google that and gleefully inform me of how wrong I was.

    Sad, very sad.

Concerned face, concerned face, ad infinitum.

Yeah Dundee United had a good following in Paisley and Aberdeen throughout the season have and at Inverness and Perth aswell recently..

Some * crowds but even Inverness wasn't the worst I've seen it considering the conditions up there..
And we had more but still 6 thousand plus and I'd expect the highland derby to get a decent crowd plus the new firm or whatever it's called being a sell out..

Not bad when money's tight round Xmas ay..

the article in the op is obviously a desperate attempt by some hurting hun to peddle a myth that rangers (rip) are somehow needed, ignoring the fact that they died and scottish football continued on without them.
our attendances have been good this year yeah they have been down on the biggest shopping day of the year much like every club in scotland + england and over the festive period when money can be tight ,not to mention stormy weather ,us playing poor football ,dissapointment at getting knocked out of the champions league, selling our best players and not replacing them, green brigade issues ,ticket prices ,global financial meltdown etc ,ect....the muppet that wrote the article thinks celtics attendances are down(for about 2 games)are because of rangers(who no longer exist).
i must admit i had a wee snigger at the paragraph that started "In a non-Rangers world, then" as if its hypothetical we are in a non rangers world you sad hun and we have brought in a crazy amount of money since them * died, even if our attendances have been down for a couple of games

The article is written by a former editor of the Celtic View.

Sure there has been a few similar murmurings recently from the media, no doubt being pushed by someone in an attempt to scaremonger our support.

ffs is that because greed is good  :smiley-laughing002:

capitalism is perfect and never breaks or gets it wrong even though it has enslaved people for generations and had our children working in the mines and up chimneys, nowadys it's asian children in the third world stitching footballs ffs
    yeah capitalism is great :31:

what about the great fraud that you've mentioned on a few occasions now

the great banking swindle of derivatives sold as AAA rated from the Cayman islands to the rest of the worlds banks, where it just so happened they were out of US jurisdiction

has there been mass arrests for all the frauds in the last 20 years or even ever ??? look at the rangers carry on there was massive fraud there committed on the tax payer

I couldn't care what anyone says but the feeling of walking out the ground after we have just put one over the Huns is something I have badly missed in the last 2 seasons, none of the other SPL games can cut it compared to that.

The fact we have no competition is the reason there is so many not bothering to turn up despite having paid for their seats, folk cannot get up for it, some of the football has been pish just to compound things, I don't think the GB thing has been that damaging to crowds albeit there will be a few that are giving that as a justification for their otherwise blasé attitude to attending domestic games.

Even a big name in Jan won't necessarily buck the trend that much, Robbie Keane a few seasons ago despite the initial reaction didn't exactly stop the Mowbray fans exodus

Be interesting to see how many take up the free tickets and go in to the ground tomorrow

Greed is good from the film Wall Street (1987), which was a propaganda tool written by champagne socialists in California. By quoting this ridiculous film you are buying into that propaganda.

Socialism and capitalism are different and competing forms of resource distribution. The evidence says that one is infinitely more efficient than the other. As I said in a different post, if socialism created prosperity I would be a socialist.

The failure of the banks is not capitalism but simple corruption, to which the democratic nations have, admittedly, been spineless in dealing with.

You might also have added that low and middle wages workers for the last 40 years have had their real terms pay levels squeezed by immigration, failure to capitalise and invest in successful cluster industries and subsidies to low value creating industries. This is not an inevitable failure of capitalism but the rigging of the economy to create many poor people so that the socialist establishment (Labour, Tory or Lib Dem) can have as much power over these people as possible by handing them back their own money in welfare payments.

The fact is that the Soviet Union failed and the United States is successful. Why does society, and it would seem you, have such a problem with this? It is a fact.

    Mr Rieper

    I am indeed.

Interesting to know why you have asked me this? I have been asked this a few times in my life and have come to the conclusion that the general Celtic support will only consider other people a true Celtic supporter if they hold certain viewpoints about the world, all of them from the left hand side of the political spectrum.

In my life I try to look at things as they are, not as not as how society wants me to think, nor in taking the same view as the group.

Look deep within yourself and reply as to why you suspect that I am not a Celtic fan.

Exactly how I see it. The crowd tomorrow will be very interesting. If the club are giving free tickets and putting on free buses, and the stadium is still half empty (as I suspect it will be), it will be pretty telling.

Quite right. But in life, one should also try to stick to the subject :86:

Seriously, keep positing and get yourself on the history and politics section. But this has nothing to do with poor attendances at Celtic Park.

My asking if you were a supporter was merely a way for me to point out that you are way off topic and what you are discussing in this thread maybe better suited to another part of the forum.

I don't doubt you are a supporter regardless on your political views as you and I both know we are a Club open to all. So there is no need for me to look deep within myself.
