Legia is written by first capital letter, like all specific names.

Legia is 8 times champions of Poland, 12 times Polish Cup Winners, couple of times quarterfinals and semi finals in UEFA, CWC, Champions Cup and Champions League (last: 1995). You must be young not to know the club, we've beat Blackburn Rovers in 1995 in one of the first editions of Champions League, and we stole the Glasgow Rangers flag last time the w@nkers came here (Rangers - Anzhi Makhachkala game).

    you're a mainstream fan ;)

well anyway my club is pretty recognizable in Europe, especially in Glasgow where Dariusz Dziekanowski used to play - and now Artur Boruc - both our former players. That's why I was surprised to learn that you don't know where's Legia from ;) but no harsh feelings, of course :)

    Cheers!

ouch, talk about destroying someones ego :97:
yup, as if they actually put up a fight to defend it, stealing flags is not exactly a British tradition, as taking ends is. That was a lousy incident and I s'pose You ems should rather start introducing Legia (whom I think a majority of this forum knows) by saying: it's the club from which Celtic got Dariusz 'Jackie' Dziekanowski, Dariusz Wdowczyk and Artur Boruc. 3 out of 5 Polish Bhoys, if I'm right.

Anyhow - if we are to break the animosities I would also say 'Welcome' to ems and congrats on this year's title, pity there will be no Warsaw derby in the coming season to give us a chance of challenging the Champ.

Actually, they did - though they weren't many of them on the Zyleta stand. The whole incident came out because we weren't allowed to expose our own colors on our own stadium - when we did, the security has teared our flag, which triggered specific group of fans to act. First they attacked the security (which made a "run for your *"), then teared the only Rangers flag that was exposed on the stand. Now, maybe it's not British tradition, but you can't say that the Old Firm derby, for example, have been peaceful and quiet, always.
I've introduced Legia mainly in the way that you say that I was supposed to. Gave the bhoy some links, some info also, introduced two of the players you mentioned (I forgot about Wdowczyk, *! Maybe it's because he's the coach now), so I think the balance have been retained.
Thank you for the congratulations (I think the first ones from Polonia fan I've received, most of them were from.. Wisla fans), well the derby - I won't miss them much to be honest, I didn't make it to the stands of Polonia stadium for the past two years (first - it ended in running all across the Powiśle, the cops really gave us a good running excersise, last time - Kaminero didn't sell me the ticket ;) ), though I surely understand your regret. We will visit you, though, on the Polonia - Zaglebie Sosnowiec (info for Celtic fans - Zaglebie are our friends) game, if you will stay in the Second Division (how's it going with the JWC and GSA, anyway ? Cause I didn't hear much lately) of course.

    Cheers!

As the only one POGON SZCZECIN supporter on this site I have to say it´s a shame you wrote Zaglebie are your friends and you forgott about Pogon:fear: !!!

Aye, I agree with the hobby of stealing flags - it´s somethin for the younger boys which wanna make troubles, cause they are bored. I saw it a few times at Pogon, but I can´t say that I liked it - :37:

Anyway Legia & Pogon allways together:50:

Amenhotep - but you don't play in the 2nd division, do you ? ::)

Well, Rangers fans came to Warsaw considering no-one will make trouble with them, "the big firm". They were wrong, that's all.

    cheers :)

    he's a journalist and a spokesperson, not a ticket salesman :86:
As a matter of fact my memories of the derbies You remember as a 'running exercise' are a wee bit different. They involve a horde of huns, an exchange of punches, a heavy battering, an ambulance shared with one Legia fan and one security guard and a hospital. Can't say I remember running and neither do I remember the score. :shamrock: Let's leave it at that.

Any road up - glad You are here, the more Poles the merrier, plus it's nice that neither of our local clubs has an overwhelming representation.

    cheers

yeah he might be a spokesperson, but he was certainly selling tickets at that time ;)
horde of huns - nice one, though I guess huns is the nickname of Rangers ? If so, please change your version ;)

nope, it's a universal word for barbarians :celt_2:
and those people I encountered were barbarians.
We often refer to Legia fans like that but the word had been used in Warsaw before as a name for...Polonia - during the great north-south prewar derbies Polonia vs Warszawianka the southerners called our mob 'the Huns' and 'the Tartars'. It was of course due to the havoc caused by the Black Shirt fans. You shouldn't be offended by the term - at least not if You consider hooliganism an integral part of football, and judging by Your attitude towards the Gers incident - You do :84:.

and believe me - from my perspective a horde it was.

offtpic - is that a Polish-Saxon coat of arms You got there in Your avatar? I'm not sure 'Saxon' and 'Celtic' go together well :)

Nope, Australia and Brazil qualified from that group. Japan lost all three games I think.
