If we were in the English leagues we would be worse of than we are now.

How many would turn up to see us play Forrest Green Rovers and Tamworth.

Those sides are obviously comparable to Celtic in being the biggest side (maybe not AIK) in their countries. Why would you compare them to Aberdeen? The populations of Sweden and Greece are also double the population of Scotland.

I take great pride in the fact that we're one of very few clubs in the world never to have played outside our country's highest domestic competion. Never want to see the day when we're playing non-league football. It's * embarrassing that people are suggesting we should stoop so low.

I don't think people realise how small Scotland is btw? :56:

Our crowds and achievements are fantastic for a nation so small.

I think that we are more likely to goto England than this Euro League malarkey taking off.....which I would prefer

In response to made in Ireland asking the average attendances of each SPL team. What was Aberdeens average when they were winning the SPL under Alex Ferguson, wouldn't that be a better comparison?

In terms of population we get similar attendances to Sweden and Greece.

Even more impressive when you take into account its a one team league.

I can't remember how it works, I think its 5 year cycles? The last cycle others did. Before that other teams did, although mainly propped up by us and Spivco. The other teams do get points for qualifiers aswell Im sure.

And to say the rest of the clubs in Scotland have done nothing is a bit silly, well it is historically speaking. Nowadays it might be true, but then we also have gargantuan revenue in comparison to the rest.

You last point is disgusting in my opinion. Its opinions like those that make other clubs fans hate us so much. I remember Hibby replying to a comment like that saying 'we may aswell just get rid of the rest and have 39 games a season between Celtic and Rangers.' Sarcastically obviously.

How can you bare to watch the Celtic games if its oh so bad? Getting beaten from a pub team twice aswell. That there is not better than a statement from an EPL fanboy.

The 2005/06 season Hearts had an average attendance of just over 16,000 - that is impressive to be honest. They were only the 3rd biggest team in Scotland at the time aswell. :icon_mrgreen:

So 2,000 less than the biggest team in Sweden (double the population).

    Not bad eh?

Without Celtic, we would be 100k or there about short of Sweden but still ahead of Greece.

Fantastic for 'pub teams' and a nation of under 6m. :icon_mrgreen:

Man City have spent 1 billion on players and we've equaled their recent European success.

If we were in England we wouldn't be any better off than we are now.

We would be lucky to play in the CL again let alone get to the last 16.

The difference between Celtic and City is though is that City's team can win the CL,Celtic have zero chance.
