Sorry before hand lads as ye have probably have had a lot of threads like this before but as an avid reader of the site and rare poster I hope ye don't mind me asking a question which has always intrigued me is past and present player and staff wages?
After reading the thread about Chris Sutton it has me thinking..
I'd love to hear loads of different example:
All today's first team squad? What's is the highest and what and who is on the lowest?
i.e Nakamura, what was he first on when he arrived and what was he on at his peak at paradise?
Same goes for Lubo, Petrov, the king?? etc etc
John Collins, Paul McStay etc etc...
Right down to Martin O'Neill to Neill Lennon,
Our assistants Johan and Garry Parker to Stevie Walford and the boys?
Prob a daft question but it's something I'm always thinking/guessing about

Nobody really knows for sure, as its just newspapers and people guessing.
larsson,s final contract with us i heard was £50000 per week
Lenny, £30k a week, same with sutton and hartson our highest earner now is supposed to be brown on 25k a week.
no idea how much the likes of the coaches will be on, there,s a lot to the contracts like performance bonuses, and goal bonuses etc,
What a do know is but they get raped on tax, if somebody is on 25k a week they will be taking home roughly 13k-14k a week -
Highest paid ever was Robbie Keane on £65,000 a week while here on loan (and no before anybody says it Dermot Desmond wasn't paying any of his contract himself that was pure paper speculation)
Lowest ever would probably be Olivier Kapo who wasn't actually getting paid while he was here as the first 3 months of his deal was without pay as he tried to prove his fitness to the club -

Im certain Larssons last contract was £45k-£47k after bonus's. Suttons last contract was £35k aswell (after bonus's).
Nakamura I'm sure signed a low contract but it was made up of add ons such as shirt sales, which ended up making him quite a bit, maybe £30k-£35k a week.
Lennon earns somewhere in the region of £11-£14k; Martin O Neil earned £1 million a year (19k a week).
Not a scooby about anyone else. :smiley-laughing002: -
I am certain that no-one on here will know what any player has been on that's for sure.
-
Brown still our highest earner, he was on 25k when he signed. I'm sure he's had one or more wage rises with extensions. He's prob on closer to 30k now

One thing is certain Sutton earned far more money during his professional career to give him a good quality of living for his life time and his children's life time .
Relying on investment advice from people who made good money from giving the advice is one way that people can be separated from their money .
I remember at the time of Sutton's sudden departure from Celtic , Sutton was very angry that when WGS required afternoon training Sutton wouldn't do it as it interfered with him going to bookies and collecting children . -

I think the wages of at least the players should be made public as the supporters are the ones contributing a good chunk of this money to play the players.
I'm pretty sure in most american sports you can check what the players are being paid before the season even starts. Why don't we do this? -
Plus, teams operate on real budgets and salary caps in the US, so it isn't as easy to be confidential. -
What about Roy Keane?
I heard it was 40k for him?
By the way I know Keane gave a speech to the Cork hurling GAA team over here and he was asked about his time at Celtic to which he said he was committed to 18 months there at least but that he knew Gordon Strachan did not want him and he was a Desmond signing.
Also surprised to see Neil Lennon is only on 11-14k thought it would have been 20k, so he might only come out with 6-8k?
Maybe that is why in his mind he might be tempted elsewhere.
Fat Sally must nearly be making that?Last edited by a moderator: May 19, 2014 -

VVD is earning A LOT less than you would imagine. Basic weekly wage anyway, it may be topped up significantly with clauses and bonuses.
If he isn't away in the Summer he'll be on significantly better terms by the start of next season. -
What kinda money you thinking hammer?
2-3 grand for VVD? -
-
What do you think he was on a week in Holland to only be on 2-3k p/w here?
I think you are quite a bit off in my opinion. -
He's earning very little in comparison with the rest of the squad. -
I know wanyama was only on about 5 grand when he left
