Craig Gordon for me.

To have been out the game that long and to come back and play the level that he is playing at is nothing short of out * standing.

 

And when the other team gets possession and breaks, then the * hits the fan! Thankfully St Mirren were dreadful in front of goal at the weekend, so we got away with it (again!). We won't get away with it in Europe... not a chance!

I don't understand why we would play two systems when our players are clearly not good enough to pull it off. This squad needs consistency and should set-up with a regular 11, playing familiar football.

So I'm giving Ronny the benefit of the doubt on this one and hoping that its just VVD playing the glory-chasing maverick because he knows he's off soon.

OK please explain why? I personally think the defence has been gash this season when tested, ie. in Europe and VVD is to blame for this aswel not just Ambrose. He's nothing on what he was last season, and judging by his body language he's quit clearly not happy at Celtic and wants away to a 'bigger' club. Im just not a fan of VVD at all and there are a lot of players ahead of him for Player of the Year.

Tough one.

Gordon has been excellent and consistent for us. He's been at least 8/10 every game.

Johansen has continually stepped it up as the season progressed. With Brown he has taken on massive responsibility and led the team.

Forrest deserves a mention to. Deila has done the right thing easing him back into the team and it's no coincidence we've improved as he has returned.

Went for Johansen though. Joint top assister domestically and top goalscorer in Europe. Only VVD and Izzy with more starts too.

The eye is easily caught by players who ply their trade further up the pitch.

Gordon has easily been the player of the year so far. He's the reason that we still have European football to look forward to!

 

Agree 100% and CG got my vote.

There's no denying Stefan has a fantastic engine and is a great box-box player but all too often in Europe his poor passing or failure to close down opposition, meant the defence had to get us out of jail. Hard to believe SJ has been with us less than a year and when he cuts out these mishaps, him and Broonie will make us a real European force.

He has been excellent since his return from injury. Very few have performed as well as him throughout the season and only CG and SJ since his return.

OP asks who we think will win it at the end of the season and I see Forrest, Gordon and Johansen as the 3 main contenders.

 

Forrest could yet go on to win POTY, when he's played the last 18 months he's always been one of our best if not best performer just that he barely plays cause of injury. If he stays fit he'll probably be in with a shout.

 

Exactly, he has had some bad injuries but he hasn't lost any pace and still has the attitude and commitment to take on players knowing he will get booted.

 

I would give it to brown, he has impressed me since he has come back from injury. He is our most influential celtic player this season.
