Behind Pukki? I don't think so, Watt has proven himself a better option in a Celtic shirt than Pukki. Got the same amount of goals as him in the 2012/2013 season and also performed better than him in Europe.

Definitely proven himself more than Pukki.

I agree. Pukki hasn't done anything of note in a Celtic strip yet. Apart from the odd glimpse here and there, he has been pretty poor in all honesty. St. Johnstone away at the tail end of last season has been his best performance of note I think, and I wouldn't say he had a great game by any stretch.

Pukki has played at higher level in bundesliga and international level scoring goals at both!! Watt is living off glory of barca goal and did nothing else in Europe so if that means he's performed better than pukki in Europe with that goal then fair enough! No doubt he has potential but to say he's a proven better option in a Celtic shirt is stretching it to say the least.

What about Darnell Fischer surely he should get another crack?

He's just going to be unlucky that we have 2 of the best right backs at the cub in recent times although I'd like to see Matthews play in front of lustig, both are quick, can defend and great going forward which in theory should make as strong a right side as we could put out on the park

Yes but Pukki hasn't done it in a Celtic strip. Which is the point. Watt's performance against Benfica was better than anything Pukki done in Europe.

He also outscored Pukki last season, playing for a relegation threatened team, in a better league. Rather than playing for the best team in a poorer league.

It's a bit odd that so many are leaving out Forrest and Commons. When fit, Forrest was an automatic starter and excelled in almost every game last year. I also think a front 3 is made for him.

Commons I understand because he isn't especially quick to play on the left or right of the front 3 and isn't a proper centre forward. But it seems unthinkable to drop him after last season.

With the players we have I think we're probably better suited to 4-2-3-1. But I'm excited to see what players Deila will favour and if he will use 4-3-3.

What has Pukki done in a Celtic strip to suggest he is a better option than Tony Watt? Let's be honest, Pukki has been somewhat of a flop so far for us.

"better than anything Pukki done in Europe"
Teemu Pukki scored a splendid 1-1 goal vs Spain. Can we say he even started the downhill of the the Spanish national team?
Teemu's goal in Spain was chosen the sporting event of the year in Finland at the yearly gala.:dancing:

There are three kind of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics. So you have to know the history and the background lying behind any statistics. To say that somebody outscored anybody is a zero statement.

This has nothing to say against Tony Watt's footballing skills or potentials. Quite the contrary. I just want to cut corners of some false notions.

That was an international goal. What did he do for Celtic in Europe?

I think everyone just needs to calm down with Pukki and Watt!
They will more than likely get a fair chance along with everyone else. Watt had a good season, Pukki (hopefully) just took time to settle because I don't think he is a * player. We have Griffiths and Stokes who are more than good enough for the SPFL and a couple young strikers like Fridj and Atajic trying to push in. As long as we get the goals in I don't care who starts out of them.

    So far not much.

Exactly. Watt and Pukki didn't quit adapted under Lennon. Let's hope that their potential will appear on the pitch next season.
