Played the demo.

It's not too bad actually.

Might pick this up later in the season when the FIFA rage reaches its peak.

 

Gyp, just pre-ordered from that site, do they take the cash right away?

 

Not a PES fan but I actually enjoyed the demo of this. It's a bit arcadey but some of the play is better than FIFA's and the graphics are very good.

I'm finding it too easy, I have beat Bayern 3 games in a row using Brazil on the highest difficulty

 

Try Bochum then, instead of Brazil.

 

I found it too easy as well. Wish they could make it as challenging as it was in the old iss days . Proper master league.

 

It's not very good. It looks brilliant but the gameplay just feels so bland. The shooting has barely changed in 4-5 years. It doesn't feel at all rewarding when you score.

Seems to be bigged up every year only to churn out the same nonsense. Still light-years behind FIFA.

 

Just played a few more games. It's definitely an improvement but the shooting lets it down. The crossing and defending are really good, but it feels they haven't worked too hard to improve the shooting mechanics. It feels too easy to score.

 

Pes dosent have a football world structure, its online is *, there license's are *, Celtic isnt in it, the commentary is terrible, its usually glitchy.

a only play as Celtic offline (abet in English football) with the odd few seasons head to head online. I like to immerse myself it a realistic sim of the world football environment where I can work the current Celtic team from English div 3 to European Champions.

Pes simply dosent offer me this fantasy.

 

Running down the wing and cutting in running parallel with the line then any shot in the 18 yard box seems to be a guaranteed goal.

I played a few more games last night and now I'm second guessing my pre order without trying the fifa demo.

 

This will be the best PES since PES 6.

 

9 years apart it shows you how poor the series has been in the last decade. The more I play of the demo the less I'm enjoying it TBH. The shooting is still similar to the PS2 days, the goals don't have enough variety. The lack of deflections is wholly unrealistic too.

Is it actually true that Celtic aren't in it? If so, * this game.

 

That's the clincher for me. This game looks like it'll be great and stuff, and the ability to edit things properly again is back etc but if Celtic aren't in it I won't bother. Just because we're in the EL and not the CL shouldn't mean anything, we are a huge club with a great stadium (which should be in any game we are in) etc that should always be in these games.

Might actually buy the next FIFA, I haven't played FIFA for years, like since the early noughties. I've always been a PES man myself but FIFA does look like it's improved a shitload since those dark days, lol. Plus we are in it! Saying that, the great thing about PES is being able to edit and I could just get PES and create Celtic...dunno.

 

I always play what I truly feel is the best football. Game. This means I played FIFA as a kid then played iss, pro evo etc all the way until the attempted move the the next gen at the time (Xbox 360) it was a terrible game and lost any resemblance to the great pea gameplay. I happily went back to fifa and enjoyed it for a couple years. Fifa 2014 was the point I thought I had to try something else as it was poor and as per with FIFA it wasn't improved enough. I tried pes 14 which I enjoyed a bit but was too flawed. Last year I bought FIFA as it was out couple months before pes. It was just uninspiring, not even satisfying in victory. I haven't played it since I got pes in November. This year old looks like several nice tweaks have been made. It was always be a drawback not having all the perfect licenses like FIFA who have always monopolised the market but their it a huge gulf in the quality of the gameplay between the games. I haven't played new FIFA yet but with the main 'improvements' that have been advertised I would expect it'll be miles behind with gameplay. I am not one that takes much from reviews but I'd suspect that it's no coincidence that pes this and last year seem to be cleaning up the best sports game titles. I am definitely glad of edit mode this year. Buying a ps4 just for it.
