    Personally I would love Darren Bent to come even on loan I think that he would show a real strength and pace up front.

    *Roman Pavlyuchenko is a fantastic threat in anybodies box (i'd pay 10mil for him)

    darren bent wont be at celtic money talks we couldnt afford his wage let alone transfer fee and as for a loan deal i couldnt see tottenham doing that. Roman pavlyuchenko i have been sayin ever since he he scored in both legs against us for spartak that we should go for him since then he scored both against england for russia to beat them 2-1 and now he has scored in the euros against spain i jst feel bigger fish might have noticed him but what a player he looks to be :shamrock:

    Read the report this morning and if you read beyond the big flashy headline theirs very little substance to the story.

    I'll be amazed if either of them comes here never mind both.

    Even if we were in that market, surely the money can be better spent than Darren Bent?

    A good player but as with most English players, ridiculously over-rated.

    the problem is joshua we cant get rid of gravesen thats why we trying to pay him off with a years pay.

    Not sure if balde will go either. His wage will be stumbling block for any suitors

    Heres to hoping for the special player we deserve

    Its fantastic for us to be linked with these guys especially pavlyuchenko this guy is superb! But the problem is we could be linked with ronaldo but until a concrete bid has come in for 1 or both of these guys its just all speculation! It just shows though the ambition of the club, and the level that we are at compared to that shower across the clyde!

    "OK, ok we’ve kept this weeks big one to the last. Celtic have enquired about signing Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow. Initial talks have taken place with both the club and player open to a possible move, a move incidentally that would smash Celtic’s transfer record. £6m downpayment is the fee we are hearing plus a further £4m in add-ons based on appearances / success etc.

    thats £10m plus £2m/year contract adds up to £18m if he signs for 4 years.
    that would definately smash Celtic's transfer record :) if its true...which i doubt.
    especialy when ManCity was apparently offering Spartak £10m straight away which was rejected due to him personally wishing to join one of the superclubs if he is to leave spartak

    Says on todays BBC Sport gossip column that Spartak have slapped a massive "£6 Million" price tag on the player.

    I'll take him at that. Proven goalscorer in the Champions League, Internationalist and hes only 26 I believe, sounds like a good deal to me. Plus, and we know how clever Lawwell is, this move would get the "Russian Billionaires" to sit up and take notice.

    Only stumbling block would be other teams coming in at that price as well, £6 Million is pocket change to the EPL and La Liga teams.

    .........Celtic signing Roman Pavlyuchenko? This is one rumour that does not seem to go away. I hope we do as he is a class act.

    Also heard that we are interested in Darren Bent from 'Spurs...again is there any truth in this?

    A £6million fee is being talked about I heard, that's what the Russians are asking us to pay. I think he's worth it and would love this to come off. :50:

    Pity we missed out on Miller, guess we'll have to make-do with the Russian league's top goal scorer. :bbpd:
