I think we will get someone else in too.
If O'Riley leaves another will come in on top of Bernardo, although I think you see Holm leave too. Calmac, Iwata, Bernardo, Hatate, Kelly plus 1 as next season's mid. I actually think Bernardo was the Hatate replacement but I doubt he leaves now.

Still has to do more to justify the same price tag as someone like CCV who was a main player, same as Jota.

At this point, despite his clear potential, he isn’t a starter for the team.

Not saying he definitely is mate, just how I can see our board seeing it.

    We will make it :BR1:
And I mean people always complain about us not spending so no point complaining the fee is too high. We know he’s got the talent, room to develop etc, pay the money

Nice finish this weekend hopefully sparks him for the run in.

He could fall away again and put in a few stinkers, lose his place seeing the season out and I'd still snap him up at 6 mil end of the season.

Too many folk have a tendancy to go judge players on the most recent performance or two, not able to grasp the idea that players with Bernardo's qualities are only a matter of time and experience away from becoming proper top performers.

Has the potential to become a player on Calmac's sort of level...intelligent, technically sound, committed, able to boss games at a high level. It's all there with Paulo, a guy that will end up raising our levels in Europe given the right coaching and some more experience. That's what we'd be paying for.

As good a long term investment as we're likely to find on our budget.

I don't get the love in tbh barring a handful of games he's been largely anonymous not particularly bad but he just seems to be there floating about. He's had nowhere near the impact of Jota or CCV where we were desperate to get them signed up

He's not a £6m player. For that sort of cash I want someone who is pushing to start every game. At the moment he is a capable back up but no more. In that position he needs to be effective every game. The fact he has been unable to shift O'Riley, who has been off his game, is telling.

CCV and Jota were both clearly better investments at this point in their loan.

I think there is a player in there, but as above it was clear that Jota and CCV were bargain buys for the prearranged fees.

    Bernardo feels like a risk.

Needs to put a sustained run in where he rips it up for the run in before id even consider wanting him for 6..

If he doesn't then no way I'd buy him..

Lads it's a matter of recognising the potential he has, not what he's done up till now. It's actually baffling me how many of you cannot grasp this :giggle1:

See how he does the rest of the season but I'd be inclined to pay the 6m. Drop in the ocean compared to what the board is sitting on and unlike some of the 2m-3m players who've turned up at Celtic Park over the years, he actually looks like he's played football before :giggle1:.
