Not good. Not too long out but too long out to make the Play Offs most likely match sharpness and fitness wise.

PATRICK ROBERTS has left Celtic in a Champions League sweat after being told he faces up to three weeks on the sidelines.

Roberts limped out of Wednesday’s win over Astana with a hamstring injury.

The on-loan Manchester City winger was sent for a scan yesterday, where it was confirmed the 19-year-old had suffered a strain rather than a tear.

He will miss Sunday’s Premiership kick-off against Hearts at Tynecastle, the League Cup clash with Motherwell and the first leg of their Champions League play-off. Leigh Griffiths also took a hefty ankle knock in the win over Astana and is doubtful for the trip to Gorgie.

If he'll be ready for the 2nd leg I hope that's at home as he'll shine better at Celtic Park.

Griffiths is a blow too, he loves playing Hearts. We've had bad luck with injuries.

Ah well, it'll be a good test for Brendan and the team coping without them.

Get Nesbitt in for the Motherwell game.

I don't think a hamstring strain will take any longer than 2 weeks to heal properly, sometimes it can be even quicker.

    Praying he is back.

I doubt Griffiths will miss the game on Sunday either, press making us sweat as per.

BR on @patrick7roberts "Could miss next 2 to 3 wks. Disappointed for him as at really good level of fitness, operating at high level.

BR on if @patrick7roberts will miss the play-offs: "We will see but if you ask me now he would probably be a risk.

Hopefully his power's of recovery are more swift than Brendan's guessing..

On the flip side. His injury has probably livened up the Sinclair signing..

I remember when he was linked to us I didn't want him, would rather give our youngsters a chance, now I would give our whole transfer budget for him, what a player he is,wish he was Scottish though.

This guy's recovery for the playoffs (and ideally bringing in a couple new for the starting XI, fat chance, I suppose) is the only thing that matters for our season right now. Troubling that Rodgers isn't optimistic at the moment. Hopefully everyone's being overcautious.

Get a witch doctor, alternative medicine, acupuncture anything to get him fit quickly. Have we still got that pod thing they sit in to hasten muscle strain recovery? Stick him in that for two days with a Netflix subscription

Hopefully we'll get the job done in the first leg and won't need to risk him for the 2nd in Israel...

I think he'll be back before.

It's not a tear. If it was that would be around a month or so, no? He strikes me as the type who will bounce back quickly.
